We were craving authentic Asian food and thought, what better place than Chinatown. This is about three city blocks big, an old industrial warehouse is now full of restaurants on one end, which makes parking difficult as it wasn't built for restaurants. The main building is delightfully tricked out with the Asian roof swirls and dragons. Full of restaurants, a few bakerys, a law and travel offices. Not really a touring place but more for locals. Many restaurants had no business, but several were packed. We found a Vietnamese/Chinese place that had a line out the door.

There was only one restaurant which seems to be drawing a crowd. You can find a lot of cheap places to eat Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese food, but the places during lunch time were rather empty. Chinatown has a beautiful gate entrance, beautiful statues outside, there are signs with explanations of Chinese art, music, dance, festivals. . . so you can take a self-guided tour. Drop by the 99 Ranch grocery stores to see what is sold. In the main forum, there are little shops that are nice to browse through, but the main parts of the complex are restaurants. The people are a bit rude and brisk. I would rather eat in a place closer to the casinos if you want to eat Chinese food. Even some of the casinos have a nice selection in their Chinese section. I went here because I've been to almost every other place in Las Vegas and this place is a bit out of the way. If you really want to see a Chinatown, go to San Francisco or take a tour of China!

I was staying on the strip for 5 nights for a work conference and was craving authentic, cheap Chinese eats. Took a short bus ride to Chinatown Plaza and had a bowl of noodles. It was perfect and exactly what I needed!

We were keen to visit here , sounded different, and thought it would be like London's chinatown , but bigger and with sunshine!

Alas its a bit basic. Not photogenic at all , very businesslike if you will , and seems more for the local asian residents?

Everyone was helpful and friendly tho , and its safe and clean. Not masses of different shops tho , mainly food , but quite samey.

Worth a visit if you want to try something different. Not a proper Chinatown like San Francisco etc remember.
