Very knowledgable waiters, will help guide you to the right number of dishes. But if you ask me they will oversell and give you way too much food. Gnocchi was amazing but that was truly only memorable dish 20.00 wine is cheapest. 7 people cost 500.00.

We decided on Lago while staying at the Bellagio because of the "small plates" and beautiful views of the fountains. We tried 8 different things and all were absolutely outstanding. Our waiter, Michael, was one of the best waiters we have had being very knowledgeable about the menu and having such a genuine personality. In addition to the food being outstanding, the martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives were perfect. It was a wonderful dining experience. Our favorites on the menu were the Crabmeat/Farro appetizer and the Lamb chops which were outstanding. The red wine Risotto was delicious and filling and a great accompaniment to our other choices. We would definitely dine at Lago again!

So pleased we found Lago on the first night of our four night stay. The concept for our taste was fantastic, as once you get the idea of ordering and sharing plates you can create a tasting menu of your choice which we did on all four nights. The flavours of everything we ate were right up there with the very best leaving us wanting more. We felt the price compared with all the other restaurants of this caliber but the experience far higher and enjoyable. Special mention and thanks to all the servers who helped us make the best of this great restaurant.

I should have known by the $50 corkage that it was going to be expensive. I figured that resort restaurants are expensive anyway, but why not try it. My wife eats light so tapas and "Italian" sounded great. However, we had difficulty finding items we liked on the menu. The items run from $12-20 each and the say "the chef recommends 3 per person". Of course he does. I ended up ordering a large plate with the steak and swapped caponata for the asparagus (I'm allergic to it). The waiter described the caponata as being "just like ratatouille". It was cold, no sauce and sour. A decent wine starts at $16 per glass. Desserts are $12-18. A glass of lemoncello? $18! I hate to focus on price, but if the food had tasted better, we may have been willing to overlook it. I'm growing weary of chefs experimenting on me with whatever random combinations they come up with in the name of being "creative". Get over your obsession with root vegetables as well! If you want a great Italian meal with awesome service and reasonable prices, go to Panevino instead.

The flavors were fabulous. Try something you've never tasted and let the kitchen wow your taste buds. The small plates allow for a great variety of choices to share. The server suggested 3-4 small plates per person. They would have rolled us out. Two people shared five small plates and we couldn't consider dessert (our loss).
