We reserved a summit room. The room looks like they need an upgrade soon. There are black tapes on the drawers. But overall, they are still nice. (There are signs saying that they will be doing renovations soon.) Lots of things to do downstairs (arcade, bowling alley and movie theater) Lots of restaurants also. We ate at the buffet. (pretty place but the food is not too great). We did a little bit of gambling. Overall, we had a great time.

We had a very nice time, our room was large and very nice. The bathroom had a spa feel and was just beautiful. They used a black out curtain to divide the room which was a little odd, but it worked fine for letting the kids think they were in their own space, but still under a watchful eye. There was a service charge to use the gym and pool, however for the price the fee was still with in reason. The kids loved the 24 hour bowling and the $3 movie were also a hit.

Grand Sierra Resort is perfect for those seeking a smokeless environment. I'm sure smoking is permitted somewhere in the resort, but it was not evident in the lobby, adjacent casino, hallways, or rooms. After 10 hours in the car, the spacious resort offered a safe environment to have my two year old granddaughter get a chance to have some exercise.
We didn't get a chance to utilize any of the many activities available because of the season and timing of our stay, but it is definitely a draw for families.

Room Tip: We stayed in standard rooms for $62 and they were great. The staff was very helpful accommodating our request for two rooms next to each other.

WE like the Grand Sierra in Reno as they hold the best poker seiries. Pot of Gold. The food is excellent as is there reward program. The only thing I would change are the chairs in the poker room. The worst I have ever set in for hours on end.

Room Tip: Leave a tip for the person when you check in and ask for an upgrade always works for me.

Got a great deal on Priceline so can't really complain although the hotel added an $11.30 resort fee!!! We were only staying overnight and didn't use any of the facilities. Hotel has huge parking lot and many rooms. Room was spacious with a view over the reservoir so very quiet. No coffrr maker in room but there was a fridge. No guest luggage carts, bellhop only. There was a line at check in but wait time was ok. Long corridors on all floors so lot's of walking! We ate in the steakhouse and the food was delicious but overpriced in our opinion. Free wifi and 2 bottles of water also included in resort fee, wifi was pretty good.

Overall not a bad overnight stay for the price.
