We stayed here as part of a three week trip round New England for our 50th wedding Anniversary We were made most welcome and had a long chat with our host regarding the history of the property. As a fan of NFL and as it was a Sunday I was impressed that the basement pool/TV room had the NFL channel showing on the TV, but surprised that I was the only person there. The bedroom was impressive, even if my wife needed a ladder to climb up onto the bed, (tongue in cheek) as it was so high, but found to be really comfortable. When we were there New England was in a heat wave , not usual for the Fall, so we didn't need the log burner in the room but it must be really homely when lit. The breakfast was everything we had been expecting and plenty of it. All in all, a lovely place to stay on a special occasion.

The staff was amazing, greeted upon arrival and shown to our room. All of the rooms are beautiful, both meals were excellent. Nice and quiet and we had a chance to snowshoe the wonderful trails. We will be back for sure. Many thanks

Room Tip: Kinsman Room - Beautiful w a view

Well this wasnt exactly as described. Were really looking for exceptional. Something changed from the last time we had dinner there. Chef change? Per hubby "what happened?" He looks around and says "this is the same place right?" Insert sad face. Average is what I'd call our dinner and I'm being sweet. If its not the same guy, I do remember he had an exotic type name, management better beg him to come back.

So sorry you found your dining experience to be only average during your visit last fall. I truly wish we would have known
at the time that the meal did not live up to your expectations, perhaps we could have offered you another menu item
We have had the same chef here at Adair for over 2 years and comments from our diners have been overwhelmingly positive.
Please feel free to connect with us personally if you would like to discuss your concerns further. Again, we apologize ....

The location is very convenient, right off Route 302 but set far away from the road in a very private setting. Lots of common rooms places to hang out inside the property and very extensive outdoor facilities too. 20ish minute drive to a variety of trail heads for hikes in the White Mountains or to skiing (e.g., Cannon Mountain or Bretton Woods). Staff are very hospitable and accommodating. Great breakfast is included (out of this world popovers) and a gourmet dinner is available as well.

Room Tip: Check out the options online. There is a nice dog friendly room and other room choices: some with fireplaces and/or whirlpools.

Having just got married, my husband and I was looking for a quick getaway for the weekend and the Adair was perfect. I can't say enough to compliment how wonderful this place and the staff is. Firstly the inn is very picturesque and beautifully maintained. It's traditional and charming decor make it a relaxing and very comfortable home like feel. The 200 hundred acres are endless and you can never get enough of the landscape. It's tucked away off the highway so you do not get any of the noise from it. The breakfast was great and although it starts at 8:30, you do not want to miss out on their famous popover pastry which is a meal in itself, absolutely tasty. The staff was just delightful. Not only were they were very personable, and made sure they got to know you and made you feel welcomed, they were very accommodating. My husband and I were arriving late driving up from NYC and Cindy (the inn keeper) assured me there would be no problem and she was right. When we arrived, although most of the staff was gone, our key was left at the desk along with a wonderful note welcoming us and there was one staffer left who showed us around and explained everything to us. I also requested champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for the occasion upon our arrival and there they were, placed in our room waiting for us. Great customer service. The Adair is now my husband and my favorite, annual little getaway from NYC. Don't miss out on this little gem.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are nice but you might want to get a large one and one with a spa tub to share with your significant other.
