This is a family-friendly summer staple. There is no pretense about the menu-but the fish is fresh and there are many preparation options. Other offerings include your normal fare: hamburgers, hot dogs, Philly cheese steak heroes, etc. AND tasty onion rings as well as many favors of ice cream served at your table or at a take out counter as you leave. The servers are cheerful and helpful. The view of the lake and mountains can't be beat, except perhaps at their other restaurant Ledge Water- higher up but further away from the lake. One can arrive by boat and pop over for a meal or a snack. Prices are very fair and there is a full-service bar, which has a regular following.

The fried haddock and scallop basket came out very fast, fresh and tasty, even though we arrived about 15 minutes before closing time. The waitress was super friendly and gave us the attention we expected in spite of our late arrival.

We had a small wait when we arrived. the place is packed and parking is a bit tricky. Some, had to park up the street as the parking around the building is limited. Called to see if they take reservations but it's first come first serve. When you arrive, remember to sign the board with number in party and whether you prefer inside or outside. We lucked out and found a place on the patio and the weather cooperated. A very loud atmosphere. Our waitress found us within minutes of being seated and the drinks arrived quickly.

The food, is a bit pricey, but no one had any issues with what was ordered. The escargot and clam chowder was very good. The firsherman's platter at $26.95 was also very good but rather skimpy on the portions. The blackened chicken and chicken platter were good size and cooked to perfection The waitress was also amenable to modifying a selection so we were able to mix and match ala carte on one of the orders.

The view from the patio on newfound lake was serene. Watching the boats pull in as well as the sunset was an added touch.

We also had some entertainment as a local car show decided to parade the muscle cars past the restaurant. From Stands, Vets, and even some modifieds & army vehicles it made the dinner that much more pleasant. If you are looking for something quiet this is probably not a good selection as the atmosphere is noisy and the Harleys roaring off can be disconcerting to some.

The drinks were good pours. Only one dessert was ordered but the waitress brought out 4 forks and the duel began.....

All in all, it was a nice way to end our visit to the white mountains.

We did not have to wait in any lines. Our food arrived promptly by an excellent waitress. The service superb. The pricy food another story. Very disappointed. It tasted like frozen food, not quality and bland. The calamari was thick with breading, rubbery, and tasteless. The remaining food was just as bad. Service-great, food-poor. I gave two stars just because service was great.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on Saturday while we were waiting for our Cabin to be ready and boy, we were pumped we did. The Cajun buffalo shrimp were out of this world - hands down one of the better shrimp dishes I've had in recent memory. My wife had a chicken cheesesteak which she loved and I had the special blackened Tuna sandwich which was so good I am dreaming about another. Our waitress was great, beautiful view of the lake as well. If I'm back in the area I will surely return.
