We stayed at Sunappe Lake Lodge Dec 24 last minute to beat a Dec 25 AM snow storm so we can ski on Christmas without a difficult drive. The ski resort was literally 2 miles away, It came up pretty inexpensive and said breakfast included.
The staff was pleasant but gave us incorrect information on what restaurants where open on Christmas Eve. We managed to find one and had a great dinner.
The room was spacious. The swimming pool was a highlight for my kids.
The hotel can improve on the little things that will go far to make it a better experience.
There was a lack of attention to basic maintenance which was disappointing. The door "chain" mechanism was broken, the door entry light was flickering on and off so we just turned it off, the sink in the bathroom was out of hand soap for washing hands.
The breakfast was all baked goods. Wish they had some hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit for folks who preferred something not processed.
Finally the pillows on the bed seemed to be made up of shredded memory foam. They were heavy, bulky, and hard.
We did have a very easy drive to the ski resort the next day so that was good but otherwise not the greatest comfort experience.More
