Stopped in with family last night had a mixed experience.

The positives:
We all ordered brisket platter. Quality of the brisket was outstanding! As good as any we've ever had.

The negatives:
Portions were stingy. While not big eaters, we all left the table hungry. A bit pricey for BBQ at $20 per platter which includes 2 sides and Texas toast, we expected to be satiated. Also, quality of sides were hit or miss. Corn bread was really good but my sons French fries were awful.

All in all, would come back for the brisket but Nik's has some kinks to work out.

So the brisket fell apart and was good. Not great, but good. The lack of beer for a BBQ place is really a problem. In addition, the texas toast on each plate was soggy and not really appetizing. The sides with the main BBQ platter items looked like they were aged a bit.

Decided to try Nik's Outpost BBQ after seeing the smoker driving by over the past few months. Went in Friday night about 6pm and the place was just about empty. Side note the decor is a mix of the old Asian place that came before and the new semi-rustic BBQ with some green neon counter lights in the mix haha. Anyways, decided stick it out and ordered the BBQ platter for two (ribs/brisket/chicken/pulled pork). My wife enjoyed the salad and the food looked great, but the flavor and quality was just not there. The ribs were definitely the better of the meats, and the only one that really had much of a smoked flavor. Sides were nothing special, basic fries, small plain ears of corn, but the Texas toast was good. Overall, not a place I would return or recommend unless you're just craving salad and toast....Sadly BBQ is a lost art in this state.

Passed this place lots of times, never stopped, Running around on a Thursday nite, appetite kicking in...so we stopped. My hubby ordered a full rack of some of the BEST ribs he has ever had (and we smoke our own, all day long). I ordered the brisket , which was to die for. We also had the quesadilla appetizer which was scrumptious! Sides were substancial - between us we had cole slaw, baked beans, broccoli & mac n' cheese. Everything was very good. We got quick service, and couldnt understand why the place wasnt full. Our waiter, who was a gem, said they fill up on the weekends. If , like us you have been driving by this place....STOP!! Go in and have a GREAT meal. And, with the large portions, you'll have dinner another day. Also it is a BYOB. So...next time we come we will bring friends & beer!

There are very few REAL BBQ places in this area so being a huge fan of ribs we came upon this place. The atmosphere is just okay, noisy, no booths just tables and not much ambiance. Had a full rack ( they ONLY serve St Louis style ribs, NO baby backs on the menu ) they were actually very good, fall off the bone and done without a lot of sauce. The sides were average. The brisket was very good also. Being that the ribs and brisket were the stars of the dish, they do deserve 4 stars for that. No bar service just soft drinks but you can bring your own.
