This is a great hotel in a great location of Brick NJ. Plenty of parking and nice lobby. We had a 2 bed room on the 4th floor. Very quiet and spacious. The hotel is in the process of renovations, the pool and gym are closed. Hotel has a fresh and clean look. Friendly staff at front desk. Small bar and snack shop. They also serve breakfast but we went out.

I have stayed over 500 nights in hotels, and this was absolutely the worst experience ever with a hilton garden inn property. I had a reservation at a reasonable rate (this hotel is usually incredibly overpriced) and I arrived 11 pm to a front desk "karen" who told me "I was downgraded to a smaller standard room at DOUBLE THE RATE. almost $350 for a three star hotel in central jersey??? I asked why wasnt I called about this in advance? then they said I was lying about being a govt. contractor (the rate lsited was "govt on business" which is a term I never saw before, as opposed to "govt employee") and I - guess what - am a govt contractor and have been for 25 years!

not only that, I stayed at this same hotel 30 nights the year before, earning them plenty of money. absolutely incredulous situation.

so I ended up staying an hour away and the hilton desk didnt help either.

avoid this formerly good hotel at all costs!

While we understand your frustration, we do not agree with your telling of events. Upon check-in, our front desk representative checked your identification and unfortunately, it was not an Active Military ID or Active Government Working Papers. The rate was then changed to our standard rate. Our front desk representative followed proper procedure and hotel policies. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused, and we wish you the best in your future travels.

This Hilton Garden Inn has done complete renovation upgrades starting in 2023. We stay here numerous times throughout the year to aide a family member in Lakewood. The rooms are spacious with plenty of updated amenities to add to your comfort. The staff here is outstanding - to mention a few Cindy & Holly at the front desk are terrific! Restaurant is excellent for breakfast or a light dinner. Chef Cliff makes everything tasty, and Victoria, as your food server, is always making sure you have all you need and with a totally pleasant attitude 😊 The location is an easy on/off the Garden State Parkway either direction! Definitely recommend if you need an overnight or looking for an extended stay. Enjoyable location!!!

The hotel is adequate. However, the employees are amazing! One gave us a fabulous recommendation for the Rainbow Diner. There weren't enough people in the evening, yet the person tending bar (among other tasks) always managed to get us the drinks we needed. (We were visiting difficult family.) I really appreciate great staff.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights for a wedding and while we were here at the pool heater broke down and was not fixed so we didn’t go into the pool or hot tub because the hot tub was also cold. The coffee machine that was in the lobby to seemed be broken for the four days we were there. Although the front staff always got me a coffee from the kitchen, which was very nice and they didn’t charge me.

The breakfast buffet is a little bit underwhelming and the first time we had breakfast, no one came to bring us coffee for 20 minutes. It seems like the server and the chef were arguing in the kitchen. When we had breakfast this morning on the day, we departed. She did come by and brought us coffee, but didn’t check if we needed any refills.

But the room was a very nice size. We had a junior suite and the bed was very comfortable and the maid surface was excellent.

Room tip: Even though they are doing construction, we heard very little of it during the day.

We are disappointed that you weren't fully satisfied with your experience. We apologize for the inconveniences during your visit. The heater for the pool/spa was fixed on Tuesday, due to the holiday weekend. We have complimentary coffee in the lobby during breakfast hours. First surprise, upon getting to the room the temperature was set to 65F and that seemed to be the actual temperature. OK, I've encountered that before. So I turn up the thermostat and 5 minutes later it is still blowing cold air. I call the front desk and a full 10 minutes later the room started to warm up.

Next I go use the toilet. Then go to flush. Doesn't work. Turns out neither the sink or the shower work.

Call front desk. They'll send someone up. They call back a few minutes later and admit that because of maintenance being done on other rooms, my water is turned off. Would I like another room?

So go down and get key for another room. Do they want to comp me in some way for this screwup. Must discuss with manager. A long delay for this management decision and they offer a minor free item.

Did the big manager come to apologize? No.

Room tip: Check everything n room actually works immediately upon entering it
