I live local and decided to take my wife to The Green Turtle for lunch. The place was ever nice looking. My wife ordered the Steak Sandwich lunch special and fries. She was told the sandwich would come with potato chips and would have to pay extra for fries. She decided to go with the chips. I ordered their Maryland Crab soup and a sandwich. My wife's steak sandwich was small and the meat was dry. My Maryland Crab soup was the worst I ever had. My sandwich did not impress. Then we were told that my wife's sandwich was the lunch special and came with nothing. So we were charged for her chips. Around $2.00 for a small handful of Chips. We have not been back since

I hate to rate the total experience POOR when the food was good, but the negatives outweighed the good. A very, very late lunch, (4-ish?) made for a completely empty restaurant. We waited for a bit at the door, and finally stepped into the restaurant for someone to greet and seat us. Our waitress was friendly, chatty and got our order wrong on several levels, but we were on the road and opted to eat what was brought to us, even though one of the dishes was DOUBLE the cost of what was ordered. We did not complain because after a few more patrons showed up, our waitress came back to our table and had THE EXACT CONVERSATION she had with us when we arrived. We felt a little like we were in a Twilight Zone...The place is big, well appointed the food was really good, (though not what we ordered), the restrooms clean, but until they get their act together...maybe no...absolutely no. We thought they were the only restaurant in the area, as we were unfamiliar tourists, but just a mile or so later we found lots of other options...pick one!

We happened in on a Monday night, and to our surprise they had a special. Hamburger and beer for $6!
The burger was delicious and the beer was a regular sized glass. My husband opted for their ticked tea which was delicious, by the way. It was called a boardwalk. It had chopped peaches in it. We ordered fries and they were really good too.
So if you want a cheap date night with great food. This is the place to go on a Monday night!!

The ambiance and set up of the restaurant are very attractive. The hostesses were pleasant. The experience went mostly downhill from there. The service was mostly efficient but they didn't pay attention to details. We had to ask for our drinks twice and silverware four times. The food was the most disappointing part of the visit. Although pork hammers were great, the other food was not. The crab chowder had a lot of crab and vegetables in it but was salty and the tomato base was so strong that it was all you could taste except the salt. The onion soup was too salty to eat. The crab cake was also too salty. Finally, when we went to order dessert, the waiter told us to avoid the coffee. We will probably try it again but not soon.

Small Maryland based chain makes it up to New Jersey and has potential. This is a larger restaurant setting, sports and family centric. The food is average and so is the service. But the place is clean and has a lot of space. I have been here twice, no touch downs but they are steadily moving the chains.
