Nice hotel

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Jan 2025via mobile
We stayed for one Friday night. Easy check in, room was on 3rd floor. Quiet and huge room. Room was double queen with plenty of space. Hotel was warm we shut off the heat. Clean shower and towels. Breakfast was great, variety of food, muffins, eggs, waffles, fruit & oatmeal. I don’t remember the woman’s name but she kept the breakfast area clean and stocked.

We were looking for something budget and closer to Trenton/Philly and our family of 4 w/2 kids stayed here in a 1 King + sofa bed room for 3 nights. The hotel is right by Route1 and has plenty of parking spaces for free. The room size was very small that when you pull out the sofa-bed there was hardly any place to even walk, we requested for 2 queens but it was unavailable. They do serve hot breakfast and the dining area could have been bit bigger to seat more people, as it was crowded and I noticed few guests patiently waiting to find a spot to eat. The king bed & sofa bed was very comfortable, while the pillows weren't. The bathroom was very odd & disgusting, as the shower head was over 8ft above I am not kidding!! (my kids were teasing that it is a waterfall). Also the soap caddies were over 5ft and my 7yr old needed help. There was inconsistent hot water in shower, I also noticed our next door guest complaining (actually yelling) for no hot water in shower. The bathroom also didn't have any exhaust vent. If this was not enough then our toilet was a mess, the flushing tank used to get water condensed and drip overnight ,we used to see some water drops on the floor. Initially we thought its the shower leaking and tried to notify the housekeeping staff but they didn't understand english, so later we just put a towel and be done with it. Also they do housekeeping only once in 2 days so had room cleaned only once in our stay. The room did have a separate bathroom sink/mirror outside (which is good) and it did come with microwave and refrigerator.
It seemed like the room was freshly renovated and I see this place could've got 4stars if not for those irritating issues.

Room tip: For families avoid Kingbed +sofa bed room,it might be too small and clumsy, instead look for 2 queen beds room options.

My daughter and I had a mostly comfortable stay at the Hampton Inn. It was a return visit - I was reminded how well managed and clean the property is. It’s away from the university and town so a little inconvenient but you can’t beat the value delivered. We booked a two queen room that was quite large. The downsides were that there was only one rolling desk chair in the room and our room (Rm 128) was next to the guest laundry facility. It would normally not be a problem but a guest decided that it would be good to run a load in the dryer (with metal fasterners of some kind) at 1:40AM. My bed was on the other side of the wall so I was up for a full “dry cycle”. The laundry is marked as open 24hrs - not ideal. I would stay again and just avoid the laundry.

Nice hotel. Clean room. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Easy to get to Princeton Junction train station to go to NYC. Quiet area. Mattress encased in mattress protector. Nice fitness room, had peloton bike. Used Priceline and no problems.

Fantastic experience. The place appears to have been recently renovated. Our room was wonderful. The bed and especially the pillows were comfortable. Usually you get those foam block pillows. Not here. Breakfast had a larger selection than most Hamptons. Stay here when in Princeton.
