Our guide Hannah was very knowledgeable and talented get things we didn't know about spiders and bat houses and how cool they are. Habitats and invasive species were so interesting to hear about. Let bed it!

Thank Liz M

What a great resource to have in the area. Our daughters loved learning about the salt marsh and all its inhabitants.

The wetlands institute has been a jersey shore staple for many years. They offer families with children a fun and interesting day away from the beach. Children can learn about marine animals and explore the wetlands. Plan on spending at least a couple of hours here to experience all the institute has to offer!

A top rate staff helped make this an informative and fun visit! Great seeing the octopus and the terrapin station. Learned so much about turtles and the marsh wild life. Great gift shop and Julie at the store was so helpful. Look forward to our next visit!

This feels more like the Jersey shore I want to remember - serene, clean, and less crowded. The naturalist is a retired school teacher who takes those interested on a 1/2 mile walk of the salt marshes after seeing an intro film. There are children's activities there but not much else to see other than a few turtle exhibits. Take bug spray if you plan on doing the salt marsh tour.
