Description: Im Emier brings German dining to you with traditional German dishes such as Currywurst, Eisbein and a variety of different schnitzels. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a large fireplace inside for those cold winter evening and a great beer garden for those hot summer days. Recently, they have broadened their scope, offering weekly spit-braai's and potjies on a Sunday afternoon.

Im Eimer was one of those places that I'd wanted to try because it has a good reputation. We booked for Sunday lunch and even though it wasn't a special day, the restaurant was fairly full. Unfortunately the girl in charge (not our waiter) showed us to a minute table that really wasn't suitable for three diners - when we asked for a different table she was visibly annoyed but finally accommodated us. Then we had to change chairs because one of the wicker seats was so low. The place is very ramshackle and quaint, but I suspect that the ornamental clutter has not been cleaned for years.

That said, my eisbein was delicious - it was really well cooked with a crispy skin, and accompanied by mash and sauerkraut. Perfect. My friends had different plates of schnitzel, which were also very good. Service was friendly and efficient and with the extremely reasonable prices, it's obvious why the restaurant is so popular. I just found myself wondering what the kitchen looked like....

There was a good log fire burning, dim lights and cluttered with all sort of ornaments.
Best to order eisbein when you book as it easily takes 40 minutes to prepare.
It is not easy to find, very dusty and not so clean inside.

Going to a popular Restaurant on a day like Fathers day can often be a gamble. From entering to leaving "Im Eimer" for lunch on said day was a pleasant experience. Wholesome German food, we had Eisbein and Zigeuner Schnitzel, good service and ambiance. Can recommend this value for your Buck's Restaurant and I will be back next time when in the area.

Second visit to Im Eimer and we had a awesome time with friends, as my partner comes from Germany it's always nice to have some German cuisine and relax. The food are very tasty and great portion size, and they offer something different, on Sunday's after lunch they have some lovely entertainment, and they are Dog friendly, we went there twice with our 15 year old labrador and it's really relaxing. Service staff are friendly and quick, love Im Eimer, highly recommended

A group of 8 of us went there for my Birthday and we were lucky enough to have Jesse Jordan singing that particular Sunday afternoon.
Most ordered the Eisbein, they do a special on Sunday. All tasted delicious.
Service can be a bit slow, but they were extremely busy and my Gyros Teller was cold but still tasty.
