We stayed in October 2017 and had a very enjoyable stay. The beds are probably amongst the most comfortable i have slept in !!. The kitchen, lounge etc are spacious and the pool was clean and inviting.
Staff come in at least once a day to tidy and remake the beds, and on the first day prepared breakfast for us, which was very good. The staff are helpful and pleasant.
They put an offering near the patio every day, as is the local custom, and a little mouse comes to take the cracker from it.
Situated very close by is Naga Bowls (with Shelter restaurant upstairs) The breakfast bowls and coffee at Naga Bowls are fantastic, we had them most mornings, and Shelter is a great restaurant that you should not miss. You are also a short walk from several good restaurants and bars, and slightly further is the beach.
All in all, a very comfortable stay in a pleasant villa.
We were so lucky to find this villa. Suzi and her staff were just amazing, nothing was to much trouble. The villa has 3 great sized bedrooms, large swimming pool and awesome lounge with surround sound. If you look to cook the kitchen is a dream. Location is a plus as it’s close to everything you need within walking distance. Can’t wait to stay here again
Absolutely beatiful villa in the heart of Seminyak. The property is very well maintained by friendly and attentive staff and the host, Suzy, was always on hand to assist with anything we needed. The location is down a small gang off Jalan Drupadi and walking distance to mant great restaurants and bars. Highly recommend a stay at these villas.
Everything about this Villa was perfect! The Villa was conveniently located in the heart of Seminyak with 3 spacious and stunning rooms and bathrooms. The pool and grass area was a mini paradise with plenty of outdoor sunbeds in the sun or shade.
But the best thing about this Villa was the service.
Suzy was amazing, friendly and the most accommodating host we could ask for. She gave us all the best restaurants and deals nearby and helped us with scooters, taxis, recovering our lost make up and also being so kind as to drop our passports at the airport for us! Honestly couldn't ask for a better host, driver (Eko) and cleaning staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Had the pleasure of staying at Villa Merta Sari, Villa 8 at Seminyak, Bali recently. The Villa is one of several in a series of beautiful Villas along Jalan Drupadi, Gang Mertasari, that are managed by Suzy Slater, the owner a smiling, obliging and very knowledgeable host rather than your typical property manager. We were a group of 7 friends who decided to holiday in Bali, a reunion of sorts, several years after we all graduated from university. On the day of our arrival, we were greeted with the picture of relaxation… a perfectly private villa, with all the necessary amenities and comforts of home with a beautiful pool surrounded by lush greenery. The one-story villa was the backdrop, with an open kitchen and living area on the ground level and with two well-appointed cozy bedrooms on the upper floor accessible via a staircase along the side of the living area. The Ground floor, on one side opens to a lovely little lawn with a small cottage of sorts which is actually a master bedroom on the ground level and this adjoins a little closed space that can comfortably serve as a parking area for either one car or perhaps a few motorbikes. The entrance to the villa is through a big wooden gate that folds away to provide access to the parking area, or alternatively through a small single door, within the bigger gate for convenience, if there is no vehicle involved. Immediately, outside Villa 8, is a Security post, manned by a very friendly security guard, who aside from being very courteous, kept a close eye on the safety of our villa while we were away exploring Bali. On the first day, Suzy our host made sure we were comfortable and after we settled in, offered us a copy of her “Little Black Book” a wealth of suggestions on what to do, where to go and what to eat in Bali, including tips on the currency, customs, culture and people of Indonesia, money exchange places, emergency medical access, as well as what to expect and even a couple of handy words in Bahasa… like how to say “thank you” in the local language. She even took the trouble to make a couple of suggestions, on where to eat to truly enjoy the local cuisine, and where to go to savor the glorious Bali sunset, all this was in parallel accompanied with cold towels and a lovely cool refreshing welcome drink. During our stay at the villa over the course of the next few days, I must also mention that the housekeeping and maintenance staff were simply outstanding, they made us truly feel at home, and besides keeping the place absolutely spick and span, they even made us a delicious continental breakfast the morning following our arrival… moreover, I would like to point out that while the villa has a wall safe, our valuables if any that happened to be occasionally left about the villa were untouched; which in itself speaks volumes of the integrity of the staff. Rest assured with all the basics taken care of it gave us all the time in the world to relax and thoroughly enjoy our holiday. Just to add, from a location perspective, the Villa itself is just few feet walking distance away from the main road (Jalan Drupadi) and to the right is a K Circle (24X7 Mini mart with most essentials from food to toiletries), and a whole host of restaurants and Spa’s on either side of the road. A short walk of about a kilometer on this road in either direction gets you to the bustling and lively part of Seminyak, which is filled with action and activity. Basically, the villa is perfectly located near all the action, yet still just the right distance away to afford you seclusion and privacy. Overall an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa 8, Merta Sari. Thank you Suzy and team, we had a great time, and are looking forward to visiting again soon.
