I was looking for a budget hotel in the area and found this resort on google street view (not sure if it's on recommended list if you try to look in travel sites). Anyway, it's a good hotel for the price consider it's located in one of the most busiest street in one of the best area in Bali. The staffs are very nice and friendly, the breakfast was okay. But the hotel looks old and a bit neglected here and there, the pool area especially is big but no staffs ever go there even when they have bar and poolside restaurant. I stayed for 5 days and I saw the same used beer can on the pool bar upon arrival until I leave.

The room itself is quite spacious, the aircon was okay though it took hours to get the room cold when it first turned on. The bathroom is nice too, with a big tub in the corner. They also have hairdryer. My room was on the second floor, it was private room, not shared bungalow so the privacy was okay. We even had our own balcony with seating area. But the wifi was a problem, we didn't even use it in the last 2 days.

Overall, the best thing about the hotel is the location and the price, really everything is within reach. Would probably stay here again.

I experienced Major THEFT from my locked In-room safety deposit box and then received no help from the extremely rude and defensive manager . Upon arriving I was given a dingy, old room upstairs at the very back of the resort.
I asked to be moved poolside .The following day I was moved to a room near the pool that was less isolated however totally NOT SECURE, (eg. the front door handle literally fell off in my hands at one point.
I put my valuable belongings in the in room safety deposit box , locked it ,and next morning found ALL MY CASH and CREDITCARD STOLEN. The manager was defensive and extremely rude and aggressive , and accused me of being a liar. They said it was not possibly their staff and no other theft had ever occurred at the hotel in the last 10 years however I have just read another trip advisor review and this is definitely not the first theft from this hotel. I was shocked as I have travelled extensively and never experienced such appalling treatment. The following day things got even stranger when the female manager repeatedly requested possession of my passport ( to which I obviously adamantly declined) , and asked me strange questions regarding my (stolen)credit cards PIN number??!!! They also requested I not leave the hotel grounds during the rest of my stay. At this point I left immediately -Something is definitely very amiss at this hotel, --for your own safety DO NOT STAY HERE.
Rooms:dated, dingy
Breakfast: underwhelming and small
Cracked mirrors in rooms, poorly maintained rooms. No security- rooms not secure.
Not recommended to say the least.

We came to Bali for a holiday with my family and the Ananda was a great choice! Great size room and bathroom, great bed and a handy mozzie net. The hotel is gorgeous, if a little run down and old. It still has some old world Bali charm. They serve a great breakfast, and the dinners we had were delicious:) the pool is huge and clean, and right outside the hotel is every shop you could ever want to visit within walking distance! Great Place!

Hotel is well located to restaurants and shops. After a long journey with poor transfer, was tired on arrival. Reception was easy, then we walked a long walk to our room. Lighting is poor in places.
Room had excellent presentation. Small flowers adorned our room.
Wifi poor. Breakfast scant, just passable.
Pool appeared cloudy.
PA announced mosquito fogging was taking place in the resort on our departure.
Would stay again. Good price.

Room tip: If you don't want a long walk, ask for a room closer to reception.

This hotel is in an excellent location, right in the middle of the main street. Shops, restaurants and everything literally at your doorstep, no.1 spot for Seminyak "eat street". The staff were also very polite and professional.

The resort is a traditional balinese style hotel with two story bungalow style accomodation that run wither side of a winding path that leads to the pool area. The resort is old and pool area is neglected... empty plastic cups laying about and the pool bar looks like it hasn't been utilized since 1988..... as with the old pool side restaurant... very depressing.
The rooms are misleading...essentially a share bungalow with your upstairs or downstairs neighbor. Upon entering the bungalow you enter a very, very dark and dingy sitting area and kitchen.... again depressing. The bedrooms one up stairs and one down stairs are rented as two separate hotel rooms, so very little privacy. the bedroom doors are locked with a dodgy lock. The room its self is large and clean, and the lower bedroom leads onto a private courtyard. The main problem with the room besides being a share bungalow are the bed bugs! we were unable to sleep in the bed and had to leave.

Overall, this hotel is cheap, its Approx $50 Australian per night and location is excellent; but the share rooms, neglected grounds and bedbugs make it extreemly bad. A better option for this price range would be to stay on sunset road in a chain hotel that is slighter farther away from the action but clean and new.
