There are two low-cost motels in Cimarron—this one (Cimarron Inn & RV Park) and Canyon Inn. We have stayed in both. The two businesses are similar enough in name and location that people sometimes forget which one has their reservation. Take my word for it: stay at the Cimarron Inn & RV Park, do NOT stay at the other motel.

Our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Most budget motels in this area do not have air conditioning. This one is no exception, but the room was shady during the day and cool and comfortable at night. The proprietors bent over backwards to resolve and sticky situation involving the OTHER motel, and everything was resolved to our complete satisfaction. I highly recommend this property if you're visiting Philmont. (I cannot think of any other reason to stop in Cimarron, to be honest.)

We drove through Cimmarron on our way to drive the Enchanted Circle and were not immediately impressed, but boy did that change. On our return to town to check-in, we found the room to be interesting, comfortable, clean, and very unique. Our dog Luna was welcomed and even treated at check-in. We were referred to St. James Hotel for dinner and a walking tour. It was just the best and most enjoyable stay. The history of town is deep and very interesting and fun. A great place and highly recommended.

This is an old Route 66 type motel. It is independently owned and managed. The room we had was very small, and the building is probably at least fifty years old. This is reflected in the outside and inside of the the motel, and the bathroom fixtures. However, it is also clean and comfortable, and decorated in an attractive and home like manner. I found it a little like staying in a friend's guest room who lives in an older house. This hotel has televison, private bathroom and shower as well as free wi- fi and an ice machine. The room was furnished with magazines and information about the area as well. I found the linens and towels clean and comfortable. This is not a luxery hotel or a chain hotel, but it was nostalgic and comfortable, and kind of a fun place to stay. There are no modern, chain hotels in the area, and my husband and I were pleased with the comfort and convenience of this quirky and nostalgic little place.

Rates, cleanliness, space were as was to be expected, simply good. But we liked two things very much: the charming cowboy atmosphere (even in the bathroom) and the freindly and competent information we got at the desk, which led us to St. James' Hotel with more stories of the rough times and good food. We would really like to come again.

We've stayed at the Cimarron Inn twice now and are heading back for our third time in the next week. Every time we've stayed at this hotel they've provided nothing but top-notch service. The room cleaning staff is terrific and loved our chocolate lab that we brought with us.
We love the quaint feel of the hotel and will not stay anywhere else in Cimarron. In fact we've even changed the dates of our trip to make sure we can stay at this hotel specifically.
