During a recent weekend in Ruidoso was had dinner at Casa Blanca on the recommendation of local friends. I had the Casa Combo which was a cheese enchilada, a beef enchilada, a chile relleno and a beef taco, with beans and rice. My wife had sizzling chicken fajitas. We liked their chips and salsa very much – the salsa is good but not too hot. We also ordered guacamole, which was good if a little bland. I thought their beef taco was among the best I have had in any New Mexican restaurant. It is somewhat rustic inside and part of the restaurant is open air, at least in good weather. As it is built on a hill, it requires a walk up two flights of stairs to get to the restaurant; there is a bar on the lower level with an outdoor patio adjacent. Service was excellent and the food came out promptly. We really liked this place. I look forward to trying it again when next in Ruidoso.
