My husband and I stayed here during our August 2017 trip. The lodge is beautiful and the food was great. The 2 safari rides per day were really excellent and got to see the Big 5 as well as many other animals. It is a private game reserve that is next to Kruegar National Park. It is great in that Kapama is 35,000 acres while Kruegar is millions of acres. Really a nice park to view the animals. The rooms are between mid-range to luxury.

Along our honeymoon trip, Kapama was one of our destinies. We spent 3 days there. It was the best place we stayed among all of the trip. In fact we will go back in some years with our baby when she is older.
Apart from the safaris, the camp was really top level: the food, the people, the rooms, the camp itself was great!
I strongly recommend to visit it.

We spent two weeks researching where to go for our African Safari. We selected Kapama and except for one thing we definitely selected the right place to go. I will explain the exception in a moment. Saw the Big 5 and so much more wildlife. The amount of wild animals on the reserve was amazing. The lodge itself is okay but the people working there were excellent, friendly and always willing to assist. The problem my wife and I observed independently was with our guide, Stephan. We both felt the same way about him but did not discuss our feelings until we left the reserve. He seemed extremely knowledge but we both felt he had something against Americans. We went out twice a day to view the animals with a couple from Austria and Australia and how he spoke to us 1-1 was different from how we observed him speaking with the others. He was condescending in several separate conversations with us. I would gladly go back to Kapama but would definitely request that we have any other guide but him. One other thing about the reserve that all should know is that the entrance to the airport is directly across the highway from the entrance to the reserve. We left the airport and arrived at the lodge very quickly.

We stayed at Kapama for my husbands 50th birthday. Could not have asked for better service. The whole experience was amazing. Staff were fabulous. Could not fault anything at all on our stay. Our guide Calton and tracker Justice were just fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and ensure we had the best experiences possible. Calton was exceptionally knowledgeable and interesting with his talks on all the animals, initiatives and history of Kapama. Highly recommend this place it will not disappoint.
