Kapama River Lodge is a great choice for Safari experience. Game drives were great with very experienced guides. Rooms are comfortable overall. Breakfast, lunch and dinner spread were all good. Only downs were poor wifi connection (only in the lobby and even so, poor connection at times). Service is actually not bad even though I rated average. However, some staff do try to guilt trip you into giving higher tips which is a turn off. E.g. guide shares life story and then jokes that if he gets more tips, he can achieve xxx faster. Asked me questions on how much I paid for my flight from Cape Town and says he will need to save many months to fly there. Waiter told me I must come for tea break at 3PM and must look for him - I gave benefit of doubt that maybe its poor English. I prefer services rendered without expectations and then I decide how much to give later.

Such an amazing experience, from arrival to relunctantly departing. I only had time to stay one night, wish I could’ve stayed longer. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. But the game drives were definitely the highlight! Eben and Michael were the best. They were both so knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. Michael even spotted a tiny chameleon in the dark! I was able to see such a variety of wildlife, including a close up with a leopard and lion cubs feeding on a baby giraffe. Also learned a lot :). Still had time to enjoy their nice pools and gym in between drives.

From the minute you land in Kruger you feel like a VIP. We were picked up by Jeep and drove through the park to our beautiful lodge. Service outstanding. There are 2 3 hr drives per day . We had a wonderful tracker Noel and ranger Freedom. Non stop amazing food. Rooms are beautiful. It’s just heaven. We had the same waiter Joel throughout our stay who was fantastic . This experience I will never forget Highly recommend this wonderful place

Room Tip: All rooms are good

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful, attentive and professional staff. Great boutique style luxury rooms. The games, or safaris, were an incredible experience, with all the infrastructure to our conform, both the ranger and the guide, were very professional and attentive. The place is amazing and super recommend.
