Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Mirador del atlantico in Gran canaria, and had a lovely time.
Situated 5 mins walk away from Amadoras beach, and like most hotels, sea facing, the views from your room when you open the curtains in the morning are fantastic. This hotel offers both self catering and fully inclusive options. All rooms are fitted with a small kitchen, hob, fridge, microwave, kettle etc.. some of the kitchen furnishings may be a little dated, but still clean and fully functional.
The rooms are spacious, with French doors leading out onto a small balcony with outdoor seating overlooking the sea. They have a large bathroom, sofa bed option, flat screen TV, safety deposit box and free Wi-Fi.
All the staff here are amongst the most friendly people you will meet. They all work very hard, always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. ( learn a couple of greetings in Spanish before you go, hello, good morning etc... and it will go a long way. )
The position of this hotel is ideally located for buses, the main stops being just around the corner. Taxis are available at ease and reception will order them for you, and they're cheap. Or if you fancy walking, there's a beautiful coastal path that takes you from Amadoras to Puerto Rico, which has another beautiful beach and marina, with boat excursions. From Amadoras beach to Puerto Rico beach along the coastal footpath takes 15 mins easy walking, or a taxi from the hotel is aprox 4 euros.
If you fancy eating out, there are lots of beach front restaurants to choose from both in Amadores and neighbouring Puerto Rico, so finding something nice to eat couldn't be easier.
As I was fully inclusive, I experienced both the hotel and the local restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel comprises of a self sevice continental style buffet with plenty of choice. Lunch and dinner are also self service and the menu changes frequently. The restaurant opens long hours for your convenience, so there's always seating available and plenty of food for everyone.
There's a pool bar which opens daily and provides drinks and food, it's also the main bar of an evening. There's a good sized pool, baby pool, and jacuzzi. All patrolled under the watchful eye of the lifeguard. There's plenty of sun loungers and parasols available and enough sunshine for everyone.
Daily entertainment was a little quiet, they respond to the wishes of the majority of guests. During my stay, the majority of guests preferred to relax and sleep around the pool, so there wasn't much going on. Evening entertainment is provided every night from 9 till 10, and these acts are brought into the hotel and change nightly.
I had a wonderful time here, it's not a 5 star hotel, nor does it claim to be. It is however, a very friendly, well situated clean and comfortable hotel with good value for money and beautiful views. If I was staying in Amadores again, I would easily choose another stay at the Mirador. Have a wonderful holiday.

Stayed for one week in Febuary hotel nice and clean. If you pay for the all inclusive they fail to tell you that the pool bar closes at 6pm. So unless you want to have a drink in a room that resembles a cheap hotel meeting room don't bother with the all inclusive.

We spent a week here in January. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and wet with little sun which meant our room was very cold due to it's position. We had to use the cooking rings a source of heat and even this was not enough. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, although the bed was a little too hard for me but I put the spare duvet under my sheet and it was fine. The waterproof mattress cover was very noisy and uncomfortable so I took it off after the first night. The kitchenette has 2 rings, a good sized fridge and adequate cooking utensils and crockery. There is also a kettle, microwave and toaster.

The pool area is clean and spacious and the pool looked so inviting but we never used it due to the weather although some brave people did! There is a small supermarket on site where we bought our water so as not to carry it too far. There is a much larger supermarket a few yards up the hill which has greater choice and is cheaper. We were self catering so cannot comment on the food and we did not use the bar. There is a flat screen TV and a safe in the room but you have to pay for both. We didn't bother as we watched films and sport via the hotel wifi on our tablets. The reception staff were always polite and helpful and all of the staff we encountered were friendly.

The position of the hotel affords a great view from the balcony overlooking the pool area and the beach and sea beyond. The bus stops for Maspolomas, Puerto Rico and Mogan are all very close and the buses frequent and very cheap. Most of the bars and restaurants are along the front and if you want a cheap beer and an excellent curry head to The Happy Valley. We ate here every day (they do other food besides curry) and a pint of beer cost 1.5 euros. They also do amazing cocktails which are also reasonable. The only drawback is that they close at 6pm as do the shops but this is seasonal and they are open later in the summer. We are returning to GC in June and will definitely be heading back to eat and drink here.

On the whole, Amadores is a lovely resort and in the summer months, the hotel would be ideal as it is only a short walk to the beach. I imagine the balconies would get a bit of sunshine when the sun is higher in the sky. It is unfortunate that the weather was bad but this is not the fault of the hotel and if you are looking for a well positioned, reasonably priced hotel then you won't go wrong with this one.

Room Tip: all rooms have a view of pool and balcony but B block would be best

The Mirador del Atlantico exceeded all our expectations. The reception area, restaurant and pool area are immaculate. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and went out of their way to help (especially Rosy on reception.) The appartment was very spacious and comfortable and was cleaned regularly. We loved the balcony and sea views. All in all the resort of Amadores and Mirador del Atlantico did not disappoint one bit!

Room Tip: The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with fantastic views of the resort.

Lovely hotel, very clean and tidy....the room was a good size and cleaned often with an adequate kitchen to do yourself snacks etc....On check in, the reception staff were very quick and friendly as was every other staff member we bumped into....we were self catering and ate out all the time we were here, so can't really comment on the food, but others told us it was very good.

Amadores is a gorgeous place and we will definitely be back....Thank you for a great stay.
