We stayed in 4 camps on this trip; 3 in Botswana (Vumbura Plains, Chitabe Main, and Duma Tau) and 1 in Kenya (Mara Plains).
Vumbura Plains was the most expensive... 40% higher than the other camps. It was not worth the difference. We had excellent guides, animal-viewing, food and accommodations at all of the camps. Vumbura uniquely offers mokoro and boat rides. However, these were disappointingly tame. We saw no animals (except a tiny reed frog). Not even birds...just sunset rides through the reeds.
The staff were excellent (as they were at all the camps).
Two other Vumbura differences were a private pool and a refrigerator stocked with your preferred wine, spirits, soft drinks. We did't think this justified the $1400 per night up-charge!More
