One of the best kept secrets in the adirondacks.
The recent new owner has been the caretaker of a great camp in the finest tradition. We have been back at least 5 times in the last six years and each year the facitilites are improved and the food is fabulous.
Hope to be back again next year for some wonderful peace an quiet without the tv, radio, and telephone. A very special place.
Adirondack traveler.

SHHHHH! Don't let too many people in the world know about PARADISE. This is it! The first time we went was for a weekend in September and we did not have a lakefront cabin, yet we thought WOW! Everyone we talked to had been coming to the Hedges for years, kids at one time were now bringing their kids. Well we were lucky enough to get a week last summer on the lake and that did it for us. Next week we will be going for our third annual, and like everyone else on this site, we hope we can keep going there forever. It is not for everyone...no fancy shops, no TV, yet it is what the soul needs. Thanks to everyone and I mean everyone at the Hedges.

We've looked at most of the Adirondack lake resorts (not the high peak area) listed in most guide books or the internet, and have stayed at various other places, on the Upper Saranac, Clear Lake, Moose Lake, and at Prospect Point on Blue Mountain Lake. We think the total amenities are best at the Hedges and Blue Mt Lake is one of the most enjoyable canoeing lakes there is -- still largely undeveloped shoreline, interesting islands and connecting lakes. We've really tried to find good places to stay and have decided we always return to the Hedges.

What a find.excellent place, came across it by accident while looking for somwhere to stop on way to Niagara Falls. We told them when we left that they have a PROBLEM....Problem is that we intend to tell everyone in England that they have to go and stay at this place. Just hope one day to return for a full week.....

My wife and I, and our 2 daughters (5 and 1) just got back from a woderful vacation to the Hedges. We had never been to the Adirondacks before, but we will definitely go back. The accomodations were charmingly rustic and very clean and well maintained. The food was of good quality and plentiful. What was most impressive of all was that the week we were there, we were the only guests who had never been to the Hedges before. Many families come back year after year and stay in the same cabin for 30 years or more. The guests were nice and made the experience even better. The lake itself is magnificent and we already miss being there and can't wait to get back.
