Beautiful place, peaceful. Playground for children, snack stand. Benches to watch the boats on the river. Great view of Olana(castle on the hill). Walkways for people to take a walk around the area of the water.

This is my favorite park by far in the whole wide area. So many parks along the Hudson have little room to actually WALK alongside the river, but this park features a decent-sized walking path (also great for scooters, skateboards, and careful cyclists) where, if you cross the lane, connects with a walking path at another park: Catskill Point.

The paths mentioned above are paved. This park also has a dirt path through the woods, located past the playground. This path is not long and leads to a historic neighborhood with very nice houses on Prospect Avenue.

Other features of the park include a large playground for children of all ages, a boat launch and docks, barbecue grills, large grassy fields, a concession stand (not open during the cold weather months), and a gazebo which features really good concerts every Thursday evening (in the warmer months).

Little extras include hearing regular church chimes, and views of Olana Castle, the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, passing boats, and Amtrak trains playing peek-a-boo in and out of trees across the water.

If you want something more than the good but simple food & ice cream offered at the concession stand, there is a restaurant within the park that I understand has good food, and one across the lane, a seafood place I can assure you has VERY good food.

The one downside to the park (to me - others might see it as a positive) is that dogs are not allowed - not even on leashes. And some others might be disappointed that it has no tennis or basketball courts - although those are available at other parks nearby.

There is no exact address listed for Dutchman's Landing, so set your GPS for 7 Main Street, Catskill, but at around that point make a left into the park. (Catskill Point would be just ahead on your right.)

I actually went there for a walk. The path is a bit uneven but not too bad. One of the paths was closed so I just circumnavigated the immediate park. The view is great. A full view of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. There are places to launch a boat and a marina as well. It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed my walk.

Most shops & restaurants were unfortunately closed when we traveled through in late April. Some restaurants opened for lunch at noon. Not many scenic areas to take pictures because road is so narrow.
