We rented the 3 bedroom cottage sight unseen, just based on reviews. Very clean and reasonably priced and right on the riverfront is what my little group of college reunion gals were looking for. It was a bit of a gamble, but it really paid off! We stayed 3 nights and we were able to leisurely eat our breakfast, enjoy the view of the river, cook when we wanted to, eat out when we wanted to, come and go as we pleased. It was perfect. The cottages are exactly what the reviews say - dated but very clean. The cottages were apparently built around 1950 and then renovated in the 70's (lots of dark wood paneling). Our cottage appeared to have recent kitchen renovations that served us well. And we REALLY enjoyed the screened in porch. It had a 6 foot table that we put to constant use as a 2nd dining room! I was concerned that the one bathroom wouldn't be adequate for the 6 of us, but we managed. We also found a restroom up the hill by the pool that we used some(the pool was awesome!). The bedrooms were very small, and one badly needed some hooks as there was no place to hang things, but no biggy. If we could have changed any one thing - it would have been the overgrown brush between the cabin lawn and the water. It would have been nice to have that drastically reduced to improve the view of the river. We would have also enjoyed having our own firepit as there was just one common one for the 10 cabins in our area. And if we could give advice to future occupants - when the literature says bring your own toiletries - don't forget the toilet paper!!! One other unexpected plus: I have traveled all over this beautiful state and been in a lot of it's wilderness, but it was at Mils that I got my first good look and listen to a big bold Eagle soaring over us. Thanks to Max and his people for providing such a perfect place for our getaway! ps- no ac, bring a fan.

It was nice to open the door and not have that typical old carpet smell that usually greets you in a Motel. The place was simple and clean, and the owner, Allen was very friendly and informative. My husband and I rented a fishing boat from him for 2 days and had a blast. We will definitely stay again!

It is a small, quaint place. There are about 6 rooms. If you're looking for a very clean place to lay your head, this is the place. It's not fancy but lots of us don't need fancy. There is a pool and the staff is friendly. It's convenient to Clayton, Alexandria Bay or Wellesley Island. I would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful location near Clayton. Loved the river view. The cottage was a bit dated, but had everything we needed for the week. Watching the fireworks across the river was a great perc. Everything was clean, the cottage and the grounds. Everyone was very friendly.
