Many hikers and visitors come to Cold Spring for the day, and want to eat before heading home. Cold Spring has many very good restaurants, but for those on a budget, Ming Moon is Cold Spring's single Chinese restaurant. It has a very long full menu, including a lot of non-fried and vegetarian options. We avoided this restaurant for years because on the last visit the workers started a fight with each other, but friends convinced us that we were missing out on some good food. So last week had the Mu Shu vegetables and it was excellent- full of many different vegetables (sometimes all you get is cabbage and mushrooms.) The single order was enough for two people with leftovers.-at about $8.00. The ambiance is fairly dreadful, and we noted that while the person at the counter pretended to speak English, he really did not. But the food came quickly. In good weather ask for plates, and take your food down to the waterfront for one of the best dining views anywhere.
