If you're booking this hotel, it's for the location. Which cannot be beat. Beautiful spot on the lake, short walk through a quiet neighborhood to get to the Baseball Hall of Fame and Main Street, nice perk of the restaurant on site. But if you're booking this hotel, you have to know what you're getting, which is a very run down property that is desperately in need of updating.
Practical problems with the room:
- Bathroom had no vanity. The sink was a pedestal sink. And it was a decent sized bathroom in terms of floor space, so there is no excuse for a pedestal sink in a hotel room where you have no room to put your stuff, especially for a family of 4!
- The shower head was non existent. The water shot out in one narrow and forceful stream. Made for very uncomfortable showers.
- Tiny television. I'm not expecting a 70" flat screen but this TV was laughably small.
Subjective problems with the room:
- A very bad/old smell.
- Really loud air conditioner.
I knew going in that this was going to be a modest property and we were booking it for the location and the convenience, and I'm not a super high maintenance person, but even I wouldn't stay here again due to the above reasons. It wouldn't take much to fix the above problems and make it way more comfortable.
