We have previously responded to a similar review on the Expedia Lodging portal on 9/6:
Brett - thank you for your review on your recent stay. The parking area is small gravel and perhaps your shoes might have picked up stones as you walked into your accommodation. All accommodations are vacuumed by our very-competent housekeeping staff prior to a guest's arrival and those accommodations are checked by management. We have alerted our staff to the AC not being on prior to your arrival as it should have been. You are correct that there is a wall AC unit in the accommodation. That particular room you were in had the AC repaired and was running properly prior to your visit. In checking with front desk staff, no one reported any complaints being raised. The Lake View does offer daily housekeeping and your linens in your bathroom would have been replaced, along with the floor being vacuumed. When a guest arrives for their stay, our office staff does ask if they would like 1 or 2 keys for the accommodation. Guests are also given a list of contact numbers, for both office hours and non-office hours, in case a guest is having an issue or situation. We are always happy to help when a guest reaches out with any issues, big or small. Again, there were no notes in your booking about issues with your stay. With regard to the location, the Lake View does advertise that it is located 6-miles to the Village of Cooperstown, about an 8-10 min drive depending on the traffic. Guests may encounter animals, such as deer, on their ride to and from the motel. Unfortunately, we cannot control the travel patterns of animals in our area. The Expedia.com listing shows we are 10 minutes from Cooperstown. We are sorry you were not happy with your stay, but do hope if you are visiting the Cooperstown area, you are able to find a location to rest that is more to your liking and needs.
There was no mention in your prior review about the "hives" your son experienced, nor the "cold-like symptoms" your wife experienced. In checking with front desk staff, we have had guests, both prior to your visit and after, and none have complained of any symptoms whatsoever from their stay. Actually, guests who have left a review on their stay in that room have given it very positive marks, both in cleanliness and overall comfort. In any event, we do hope that both your family members have recovered and are well. Our guests' comfort during their stay in paramount and we do all we can, especially when they take time to let us know if there is a problem, to remedy the situation.
