My husband and I chose Geneva on the Lake to celebrate our 28th anniversary. The property is lovely and we chose to walk the grounds before dinner. The inn was originally a monastery. The back gardens, pool, and lakefront area are all lovely. The dining room is much smaller than anticipated. The tables are quite close together. I do recommend going as the sun is setting because the dining room is candlelit and very romantic. We sat in a small room with several other couples. We enjoyed the live pianist but were glad we were one room away. Our server was wonderful and made us feel comfortable from the start of our meal. They served us complementary champagne because it was our anniversary. It seemed as if all the couples were also celebrating their anniversaries. We chose the 4 courses with wine pairing. They served a crudités plate which was fresh and delicious. The carrot ginger soup was outstanding. For our appetizer, we both ordered the shrimp cocktail. Fabulous! For the entree, I had the lobster with a sweet butter sauce. My husband selected the duck with a ginger orange glaze. The entrees were perfect. For dessert, we had a lemon cheese cake and orange-vanilla panna cotta. The wines that were paired with our courses were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was very expensive ($240 with tax and tip) but for a special occasion, I highly recommend this restaurant!
