although the hotel and restaurant are outside la passe, it's only relative to the fact that the island is very small. It has a great beach next to it and is on the side for sunset.

Cant go to Le Digue without having a meal here. It was just the same as usual , just a few people in the restaurant and the staff looking bored to death. Saying that, the meal was okay and the service acceptable, but, how can they charge London prices when in reality you are eating pretty basic fare in a wooden "lean to on a hill". Perhaps that is why the restaurant is never busy.

We spotted this hotel advertising a seafood evening as we cycled around the island, and thought it would make a nice change of scene. We were staying at La Digue Island Lodge, a fair way the other side of the jetty, but this hotel offers a taxi service to and from its restaurant, which is great, so we booked up and they picked us up punctually.
We were shown to a table looking out to sea across the hotel pool, and the wine was reasonably priced (in Seychelles terms). The seafood buffet itself was excellent value at 300 rupees pp (£15 a head) - the best priced meal we had in our 2 weeks away. It consisted of a diverse range of salads and sushi for starters, including seafood/fish salads, then about 8 hot dishes, mainly seafood and fish but with a meat dish (lamb curry if we recall) and veg dishes too. All really tasty, hot and good quality. There was no choice for dessert, a slice of sweet pudding was delivered to us individually at our table, but it was nice.
When we were ready to leave the receptionist called for their car to collect us and return us to our hotel. A very nice evening and worth a visit for this particular themed night at least (believe it was Tuesday), especially given the excellent price and quality offering.

The food was tasty but its expensive. More than NYC prices. Which frankly I find a bit annoying. Maybe I shouldn't but I was. We ordered the smoked fish app, the grilled fish, and had a bottle of wine... the meal was 90USD. Hmmm.... you should pause because that is ALOT.

The other very annoying and ridiculous point of contention I have was that they do not give you a fair USD exchange rate. The banks, right now, are giving a rate of 13.45 rupees for 1 USD. This place offers 11 rupees, which they do not tell you prior to eating but they quickly add it to your bill. Notice is appropriate in instances like this.

And nothing worked in the restaurant... the credit card machine did not work... the WiFi did not work... for 90USD....everything should work.
