Nice variety on the menu ranging from snitzel, burgers and other dinners. Flank steak with sweet potato pancake & salad was an interesting combo but great. Good atmosphere and beer or other cocktails. Decent service. Smaller establishment like the majority of the shops and restaurants in the area.

We're locals and have been for years. During that time new, uber-trendy restaurants have opened and written up in chic, glossy upscale magazines with glowing accolades, and prices to match. Others offer precious cocktails and food that leave even many New Yorkers in sticker shock. So, if you want to eat where the locals eat and enjoy great food where diners are made to feel welcome in a relaxed atmosphere without any pretense.but with excellent service (thank you Nicky!) and a menu that won't break the bank then you'll love Wunderbar. Tonight we enjoyed hot and spicy chicken wings (when they're this good - they're GOOD!) and an awesome fried green tomato caprese - perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and tender on the inside with a perfect balsamic demi-glaze. For entrees we enjoyed the Schnitzel Parmesan and Fish and Chips, both flavorful and hot. Wunderbar's generous portions will leave even the heartiest of eaters completely satisfied. Appetizers, entrees and two cocktails each came to under $100 [many of the trendy places in Hudson will charge you at least double that and you'll leave hungry]. Trust a local - don't fall for the "hipster" hype and enjoy a truly authentic meal in a truly authentic Hudson bistro.

My husband and I found ourselves in Hudson, NY at dinner time last night. I trolled the eating sites and was having a hard time with a last minute reservation. We decided to try the old diner, which was a traditional diner back in the day. We arrived just as a man was locking up the new version, Grazing.
He suggested Wunderbar or Sushi, and we went for the Schnitzel. We were delighted with this cozy bistro at an end of Warren Street previously not on our dining radar. Or any radar.
Hudson is truly bustling. Check out Wunderbar. The food & service was great. Explore the places where, as a visitor, you might not go before.

Nice atmosphere in a small homey bistro. Good, ever-changing selection of craft beers. Menu is not extensive. Burgers aren't the best around!

Have wanted to try Wunderbar for a while, and finally made it here! We were lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front on the rainy night. Seated promptly, with our reservation. The bar would be a good place to wait with a cocktail if needed. Local beer selection pleased my husband, and with some help from the friendly staff, we all were pleased with our drink selections. Food was good, portions plentiful, the chicken special was especially enjoyed. Tab was $180 for four, with 2 shared apps, 4 entrees and drinks before tip, which was reasonable. We were too full to try the desserts, which the staff shared are all made in house, you may wish to save room when you visit. It did take a bit to get our check, but I believe the staff were respecting our conversation and allowed us to catch up with our group. We're sure to be back!
