The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The food was good, but wouldn't say it matched the price. Service was fabulous.

First time here - need to make reservations. Food was beyond excellent- service was great. There were weddings all weekend long, never was an issue for us. The place is clean and the history is so interesting.

Even though the menu is limited, there are several dishes that will make a seasoned palate happy. The lamb was delicious. The baby eggplant, unusual. The brussel sprouts were raw (not good). The desert of cornbread with carmelized apples was different. The creme brulee -- you should seriously PASS on this one -- it missed SO much in flavor, texture and PRESENCE. If I'm in the area, I would probably stop again. But if those 3 loud gents are there, I'll just keep going.

Thank you for staying and dining with us at The Inn at Erlowest. We are happy that you found elements of our menu to your liking and disappointed in others as unusual, different and surprising raw! Our restaurant is a small seating establishment and our chef works to create a menu that consists of the freshest ingredients. Our goal is to offer products that have been in house for a short period of time to insure the best quality. We are happy that our options, including the lamb was to your liking.

We do have to apologize for the creme brûlée. As a part of our routine tasting we found after your visit that our receipt had not been followed by accident. That issue is behind us and we are happy to report that our dessert selections are back in form.

I am sorry if other guests disturbed you. We typically pick up on that situation and address it independently, but missed it in your case. Of course, if an issue is brought to our attention, we would address it immediately.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, We hope that you will be able to try us again!

My wife and I spent three days and two nights at Erlowest in early September. From our arrival to departure we enjoyed every minute. We were particularly fortunate to be checked in by Joanne Carruthers who was very courteous and professional. As history buffs, we were impressed by Joanne's knowledge of the history of the building and its owners.

Because it happened to be restarurant week in the Lake George area all restaurant seatings were booked. Thanks to Joanne and the Restaurant Manager--Jillian--we were able to obtain seating. Because we were looking forward to a unique dining experience we opted for the regular menu rather than the pre-fix restaurant week menu. Without going into specifics, we can say unequivocally that our meals were excellent, from the appetizers, to main courses and dessert. Breakfasts (full), which were included with lodging cost, were also outstanding. So was the service.

Finally, our room, the Hiricon on the third floor had a terrific view of Lake George and adjacent uplands. A great room whether or not the weather is ideal. The second floor balcony is not to be missed.

Erlowest is now on our list of must visit Inns at least once per year. We strongly recommend it, especially if you like exquisite dining, terrific views and an elegant historic building.

we are foodies, (but also like really good local food). This restaurant advertises as elegant upscale dining. It is not, at least in terms of a national scale. The space, a well renovated Victorian mansion, is very attractive, with coffered ceilings and elaborate woodwork, though the dining room windows incongruously look out on the parking lot. The service was poor, with well meaning servers, but they were absent for huge stretches of the meal, leaving water unfilled, and us feeling marooned. The food was a very mixed bag. The amuse bouche was inedible for us and made us worry about the kitchen's judgment. It was a huge porcelain spoonful of very acid chutney with a small piece of seared pork belly on top. The proportions were totally opposite what they needed to be - only a 1/4 tsp of chutney would have sufficed to set off the taste of the nibble of pork belly topping the full spoon. The beet salad had no beets, and the green salad inexplicably had 3 raw hairy whole green beans on top of it, so sandpaper on the outside and hard that they could not be eaten. The quality of the fish and the meat for the main courses was definitely good, and they were cooked well, but they were served awkwardly. There also were a number of dishes that the restaurant was out of, both at dinner, and at breakfast, when we tried it. As in, for breakfast, no smoothies, no yogurt, no duck or venison specialty products. The pastries they served were uncooked in the middle at breakfast and stale at dinner. Can;t recommend this place.

Thank you for taking the time to share your dinner experience with us. We apologize that your stay was not up to standard considering both our service and the food flavors. After meeting with the restaurant manager and our chef de cuisine, candidly we are at a loss as to how we could have delivered such a bad experience to you. For that we apologize. Based on your feedback, we have reviewed our staffing levels, training and order management processes.

Thank you.
