Really restful and excellently managed lodge thanks to Samantha, Jonas and team.
Well worth a visit, beautifully situated in the Welgevonden Reserve . Spoil yourself and recover from "city frazzle " you won' t regret it.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have a better view, you'd need to enquire.

We hope that you are both well and we cannot thank you enough for taking the time to write to us and the thanks you have bestowed on us.

We are lucky to be situated in the very heart of the reserve and also to have a spectacular plain that attracts all types of game throughout the day. It makes all our extended Leloko feel like they have become one with nature when they watch the interactions from their room patio or one of our comfy deck areas.

Until we meet again, keep well and please stay in touch.

Was fortunate enough to have spend two nights at this lodge. From the reception at the main Welgevonden gate till the time of departure we felt welcome. I traveled with two elderly parents who needed constant assistance (getting around the lodge in a wheelchair and getting on and off the game vehicle), nothing was a hassle for the staff. A special thanks to Jonas for the great game drives....we saw the Big 5 in two days and a Cheetah kill! Food was lovely and well presented. Accommodation is comfortable with all amenities needed. Well worth the money spent to go.

Such a beautiful lodge, service was great and they really looked after every need. Sam, Jonas and laptop are so friendly and accommodating.

Food was delicious and drinks were great. We enjoyed the other couples staying their at same time

In terms of game drives, Jonas knows the land and we were so lucky to see pretty much everything, cheetahs in action and the 2 lions that remain in this gigantic reserve!

    Greetings from the Ekuthuleni Leloko

What a special review yours is and thank your for sharing it with us and fellow travellers. We are happy to share that we have had four new adult lion introduced to Welgevonden and that our original female lion you saw during your visit, has had cubs. Our one family of spotten hyena have also had babies. Exciting for us who share this wonderful reserve with them, and even more exciting to be able to share this every day with our guests.

Please come visit us soon to experience all these lovely new additions.

Best Regards & Blessings in Abundance

We loved our few days at this lodge. The rooms are very comfortable, immaculate and private with lovely views over the plain. It was great to have a comfortable bath and outside shower. All the food was excellent, not being over the top with ridiculous portions. The plains are lovely with plentiful plains game. Trees of the Waterberg are special, shapely, fascinating and worth getting to know. The area seemed well maintained and almost pristine. This could be a world first. I hate to find lodges where care of the environment, that is, removing alien vegetation is not a priority. Many do not walk the talk. I recommend it very highly.

Room Tip: All the rooms are separate, elegant and private with a good view over the plain.

Greetings from Welgevonden and the Ekuthuleni Leloko

We cannot thank you enough for sharing your travels throughout Africa with us and for rating this "place of peace" and Welgevonden so highly.

There is a very respectful culture within this place of beauty and it carries over from the reserve and their conservation efforts within a wilderness area each day, to all the guides that teach visitors about the animals, fauna and flora ... to the hospitality of the local community of staff, who create the special and lasting memories. It is truly one of the greatest recipes.

We hope that you will return to us again ... your home is waiting.

    Dearest Maaike,

Thank you for this spectacular review and description of our "place of peace"

Thank you also for sharing a bit of yourselves with us. It was wonderful hearing about your homeland, your studies and your travels. We hope that you have settled into your professions and are enjoying it.

A special thanks also for being so understanding with the power failures. It was great sharing the excitement with you in transforming the lodge into a "green camp" for the night. It was as if the stars and the chorus of night sounds made a special appearance ...

Keep well and come visit soon ... we miss you!
