For those who think that great wine is only found in California or Europe, many surprises await you in the North Fork of Long Island. You will find great wine and even better people in Darolyn and Chris of the Harvest Inn. Nestled amongst some of the best vineyards the North Fork has to offer, this cozy spot is the perfect escape. Darolyn does a wonderful job providing you with recommendations of restaurants, vineyards, and things to do before you even arrive. Her and Chris really helped us maximize our weekend away, and we felt our time could not not have been spent any better on our first trip out. Take their advice on things to do, they will not steer you wrong. Chris is a fantastic chef and we advise you to ALWAYS enjoy his breakfast. They are excellent hosts, and we had a marvelous time sharing stories and hearing about their wonderful adventures. The Harvest Inn is like something out of a book or movie. You cannot go wrong spending a night or a week out there. We cannot wait till our next trip back.

Room tip: Harvest Room was great! But they all will be fantastic.

Chris and Darolyn deliver the peace and quiet a couple may need to try to escape reality. In the North Fork of NY’s Long Island, in wine country, we weren’t far from any one winery. We really enjoyed the breakfast that was prepared for us each morning. Each morning we had something different, but just as memorable!

If you’re planning a trip out to the North Fork, I highly recommend this B & B.

My (now) fiancé booked this inn as a surprise, the evening we got engaged. It was a perfect place — homey, romantic, charming. Darolyn and Chris helped us celebrate; they had a special bottle of sparkling wine waiting when we walked in. Plus, breakfast was delicious and the room was gorgeous.

Thank you for making this special day even more special!

For those times when you need to escape Manhattan, but you don’t want to go too far, The North Fork, aka Long Island’s Wine Country, is the place to go! Hop on the Hampton Jitney or into a Zipcar, and 2 hours later you’re sipping rosé on the porch of one of the many beautiful vineyards. Shockingly, with over 38 vineyards to choose from, my favorite part about being in the “NoFo” is staying at The Harvest Inn. It’s a beautiful New England style house with 5 well-appointed and decorated guest rooms, and fabulous amenities right down to the luxurious sheets.

The owners, Darolyn and Chris, are simply wonderful. Darolyn is the perfect hostess and will assist with anything you need while you’re in town: reservations, transportation, or planning your wine-tinerary. One of the best parts of staying at the inn, however, is waking up at 8:30am and going to breakfast – no matter how many glasses you’ve “sampled” the day before. Chris is a culinary trained chef who, each morning, prepares the most unique and delicious 2-course breakfasts that you will ever have! The worst part of your weekend will be the moment you are headed out the door and back to the hustle and bustle of New York City, but on the ride back you’ll already be looking through your calendar and planning your next escape and another glass on the porch of The Harvest Inn.

Room tip: All rooms are excellent and well appointed

My wife and I came out to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and get some R&R. Darolyn and Chris made it a perfect getaway. The house is immaculate, quiet, and very comfortable. Sitting on the porch having a cup of coffee before breakfast was a great way to start the day. The breakfast that Chris made was over the top, you can feel his passion for cooking in everything he made. Their knowledge of the area and the people made for some great suggestions to spend the day. We can't wait to book our next stay!
