As a parent of an undergrad U of R student, I am only sad that they will graduate and I will have lost my excuse to visit Rochester and stay at the HGI Medical Center. I've stayed four or five times and it is always a mini vacation for me. Clean, modern, roomy rooms, the wonderful Grappa restaurant, and consistently pleasant and attentive service from the staff make the HGI my absolute favorite in Rochester. Well I guess there's always the possiblity of grad school.

This hotel feels brand new and modern. It is located within a small shopping/dining development across from Mt. Hope cemetary and very close to U of R campus and hospital. A variety of restaurants and a bookstore are also located in same development. It’s super convenient and perfect for a visit to U of R.

Staff is very friendly, professional, and non-intrusive. We arrived late on a snowy night to a lobby with fireplace, complimentary coffee/tea, cookies, and newspapers to make us want to curl up and stay a while. Restaurant and small convenience shop are adjacent to lobby on first floor. Lower level has laundry, exercise room and a pool. Guest rooms and common areas are clean and updated. Coffeemaker, microwave and mini fridge in room. Parking is free—there are limited spaces directly adjacent to hotel and a covered parking garage is a short walk away (ideal during our snowy stay).

Nice and new hotel in good area about 5 minutes from Henrietta (marketplace) shopping and even less from downtown. University area and hotel is close to many dining options, nice to walk around in good weather as well... Breakfast at the grappa was good along with great service as well... Pool was on the smaller side but comparable to all newer hotels nowdays... Rooms are well furnished and looked well cleaned. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in the one bedroom suite which was gigantic and gorgeous - the bathroom was jaw dropping and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The whole hotel was very clean and upkeep was great. We used the pool which was deceiving as it is underground but still feels very much open and relaxing.
