I would say Tournedos is probably the best place in Rochester that you can take your very special someone out for date night. This is a very romantic and elegant place.

At the higher end, it is the details that separate a 5-star experience from the pack of 3’s and Tournedos, at least the night we went out didn’t miss one. The ambiance, the service, and the meals – we could not have asked for more.

The staff was professional, courteous, and had a little bit of personality to them – I like it when servers are not too stiff. The folks that work at Tournedos treat you like a human and genuinely seemed happy that you were sharing your night out with them.

There are not too many places in New York State that offer Dry-Aged Steaks (I think Russell’s and Hutch’s in Buffalo do and that’s about it) – and we were not disappointed. Our entrées (NY Strip, Osso Bucco) were prepared to perfection – simply put, be it appetizer, entrees to desert, it was one of the higher quality dining experiences we’ve had in some time. We really enjoyed this evening.

A note on pricing, if you’re the type of person that knows the cost of everything but the value of nothing – then don’t go here. The better dining experiences that have higher quality options cost more. The menus are online and you can see what they charge so don’t come here and then complain about it just keep yourself at the Texas Lone Star chain and be miserable.

Two drinks at the bar, a bottle of wine, appetizer and entrées, with tip, we were out about $200 – and it was worth it.

This was by far my favorite meal in Rochester. The setting was quiet and romantic, the wine selection was great, and the food was delicious. Our only complaint was that we ate too much.

Incredible surroundings, terrific wait staff and a succulent meal. In addition to the dining room where we were served, I had occasion to enjoy the lobby area and absorb the decor. What a lovely place to enjoy a special meal or I underst and you can also make it an event by reserving one of the rooms for an overnight.

This was a group celebration for the husbands that were turning 50! We found the prices to be appropriate for the offerings. My medallions served 3 different ways was phenomenal and quite possibly the best I have ever had. We brought 2 extraordinary bottles of wine and it was decanted and breathing at the table before we were even seated! Service was elegant and professional. We went through those bottles pretty fast and were very pleased to see other excellent wine offerings in the Wine Lists. The corkage fee was reasonable considering the care which was taken with our wine. Everyone took something home which tells you that the portion sizes where good. The end of the meal was lovely. Our server brought in a rolling cart with liquors, ports, dessert wines and several choices of homemade desserts! 100 year old Grande Marnier was consumed as well as Sauternes and Port in 10, 20, 30 and 40 years. Our deepest thanks and gratitude to Jessica, Natalie and Stephanie in the bar.
