Very shabby. The place has deteriorated. It smells musty. I stayed here before and it wasn't as bad.

Review of Super 8 by Wyndham Sidney NY

Myself and my beautiful girlfriend Patrizia decided to take a a decent mini- vacation for the 4th of July weekend. She has never been anywhere in upstate NY.Me on the other hand have vast experiences with different counties. We decided to go to Delaware County,NY as I own a piece of raw land in Masonville.We are both from Queens, NY,and going up there was a beautiful and welcomed experience especially for her.The peace,the tranquility, the kind and good natured people was unforgettable. There was no loud and explosive fireworks, no rowdy crowds,no drunken fools.By far this was the best 4th of July tgat I've experienced in my 61 plus years of life.Patrizia,was part of tge positive experience but mostly nature and what Delaware County has to offer.We are both grateful and blessed to have experienced such a beautiful weekend. We will return.

I was actually a little hesitant about staying here after I read some of the comments. With a little trepidation I checked in and was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was friendly and the room was a little on the “tired “side but it was clean, smelled nice, very spacious and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and the bathroom was clean and a good size.

If I could give this place a zero I would- granted it is a super 8 but it should still smell and feel clean- bathtub was cracked with a non slip mat over it- you could feel it when you stood in the shower- old chairs like from 1975 and the room smelled musty and stale when we checked in- to top it off I got charged a 135$ “smoking fee” when we don’t smoke!! Disputed that with my bank AND Wyndham-

Thank you for choosing Super 8 Sidney by Wyndham for your most recent hotel stay. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. Our front desk attendants are always more than glad to assist our guests with offering the best accommodations available. Had we known about the issue's you found in your room upon arrival we would have offered to remedy them. Unfortunately we are a non smoking facility and our housekeepers are highly trained in being able to determine when a guest has smoked in the room during their stay. There is notices in each room that a guest can be charged up to $250 if they smoke in the room.

Was a convenient place to stay. Check in and out was fast and easy. Room was clean and fresh smelling. We did not partake of the breakfast or the wifi, so I can't comment on those aspects. The only complaint I could give was that the pillows are not very comfortable!

The Super 8 in Sidney is disgusting. My room smelled like a glade air freshener on steroids! It was difficult to breathe and gave us a headache. The carpet was wet and the walls were stained. We asked to switch rooms but there were none available. Because of the terrible smell in the room we had to sleep with the window open. My family was awakened by a man rummaging through a dumpster below our window looking for cans. No one slept and I found it impossible to settle into the room. I was not expecting much but this was beyond what i imagined. Quite frankly, it was my worst nightmare.
