Arrived to a cold room and had to wait for it to warm up once we turned radiator on. No cups to have a hot drink. Staff very friendly but not sure if older lady understands things, although she is lovely. Sorry we dont know her name, no one ever introduced themselves. Lovely big bathroom, with shower over the bath. Water was lovely and hot, but that didn’t extend to the shower. No way could we get a hot shower and in January believe me you need one. Saving grace was the delicious hot breakfast, the chef deserves all the praise he get and the young waitress was always on call. She was quiet, very polite and friendly.
Sort out the shower please

Armed with a Groupon deal, we visited the Angel Inn for the second time.
Not much had changed and we were given the same room as before (3 Wangford).
It is ideal as a base for visiting Southwold, Lowestoft, Beccles and Thorpeness and buses stop within 50 yards of the Inn (although not very frequently).
Breakfast was very good. Fruit, yogurt, cereals and juice, with full English (or part thereof) also available. Pots of tea or coffee - all served with a smile from staff. Different seating arrangement this time. Last time we all sat round a large round table.
The room was cosy enough - small TV, coffee making facilities, cleaned daily. Pointed out a couple of 'defects' to owners before leaving.
An enjoyable stay and would return.

Room tip: Room 3 was fine. Most rooms look cosy and there is little noise from traffic wherever room you have

my husband and l stayed at the angel 3 nights, it was a birthday present from our daughter and son in law, they couldn't have chosen better, the menu was like home cooking, it was great, nice cosy room,v clean and warm as it was freezing outside. the staff were happy friendly and helpful, Dave even carried our cases to and from the car. even the locals were so friendly. plenty of nice places to visit in the area. we will go again for sure. thankyou, just what we needed.

England in January......My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights, it was miserable weather and we felt cosy and cared for. The food was English and down to earth. The landlord was welcoming and the bed was comfy. Opposite a church in a small village, just off of a main thoroughfare, convenient & quiet. Breakfast was plentiful with fruit, toast, juice, variety of drinks plus a fry up if wanted - all in all a pleasant experience.

Ideally positioned, The Angel at Wangford has a lot of what makes a pub work, but it's putting it in the correct order that matters. We had heard that it had changed hands and so, we were hoping, that the menu would have been seriously looked at, because last time it was a dull affair, lacking imagination. Sadly, the menu was the same! So, new owners, to survive and compete in the pub/restaurant game - you have to up 'your game'. Change the menu! It's boring, out of touch and lacking imagination! You can't survive on passing trade, so the locals have to want to go there. Not very inspiring if it's all the same old stuff.
