We visited for a long weekend on a rather grey and slushy February. Arriving to our room - Wangford - our room was pleasantly furnacey, warm and comfortable.
The hotel leaves room doors open once cleaned which allowed us to take a peek into other rooms and we did feel like our room maybe wasn't as nicely decorated as others, whilst there was charming beams - the double bed let the room down slightly, as did the layout of the bathroom.Unfortunately I think our room may have been right above the bar and it was very noisy until closing and kick out time.
I think a small amount of money spent in this room could make a big difference, it felt like it was halfway there.
The hotel was well located for our trip into Southwold and was located in an easy to find location within the village.
We also ate at the hotel one evening and it was nice pub grub, small menu with a only a few choices, but would eat there again.More
