The diving center is located adjoining the Le Grand Bleu Hotel at Trou Aux Biches. There are two dives scheduled on daily basis, one in the morning at 0900 hrs and the other in the afternoon at 1300 hrs. It is advisable to pre-book your diving slot a day before to avoid last minute inconvenience.
They provide us with diving costumes, fins, breathing apparatus and oxygen cylinders. It doesn't really matter if you know swimming or not as they thoroughly train you prior to the main dive in shallow sea waters. They guide you on how to control our breathing, how to depressurize yourself, how to take out water from the mask and the use of hand gestures beneath the water. They then take you to the diving spot at the coast off Trou aux Biches about 20 mins far into the ocean. Dive lasts for about 30 mins for depth of about 8-10 metres. They charge you approx. 2500 MUR per person for scuba diving with additional 1500 MUR for diving photography. They also take care about hygeine and each diving apparatus is cleaned with sanitized water before and after the dive.
You feel nervous just before the dive, but once you get relaxed and control your breathing, you won't feel to come out of the water. Beneath the ocean, at the sea bed, its a completely mesmerizing world all together with variety of marine fauna that you experience.
The staff, Ravi, Bobby, Akshay and Doraine are really friendly and go out of their way to help their clients. This was my first scuba dive. While I knew little bit of swimming, my wife did not know swimming and was little afraid to dive in open sea. But, they made sure everything was fine and we enjoyed our first scuba dive together to the fullest.
