I must state that ditto g was wrong to say that thassos sacked his staff then reinstated them on a daily basis as thassos has a unusual sense of humor Jordan was not dismissed he was taken into hospital for a few days as he was unwell he is at the hotel as I write this review and is back to work tomorrow

We found that Moss was a fantastic hostess along with thassos and all the staff at the rodos star hotel, even the cleaners were happy and chatty with all the holiday makers we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the hotel food was excellent and if you slept in there were snacks at the poolside if you missed breakfast which a lot of people had due to missing breakfast and after lunch nibbles were provided next to the pool this is a family run hotel and yes family's occasionally disagree but this is what family's do but in no way does this affect the service we were given which was excellent and they go out of there way to help all there guest's. Moss even took us to the town herself in her own car as my wife has a walking disability that's service to come back for.

Thank you to thassos and Moss and all the staff at the rodos star for making our stay fantastic

Room Tip: Go for a mountain view looking over the town it's quiet

We stayed at this hotel 22 july till 29th july, we arrived at the hotel about midnight, we was checked in quickly and then offered one free drink which was fine was long day traveling.

Breakfast = 07:30 - 09:30 it was the same every morning but it was fine and what you expect
Pool Snacks = 10:30 - 12:30 very stupid they have pizza bread ham cheese etc 1 hour after breakfast.
Lunch 12:30 - 14:00 lunch was nice every day, Spag Bol is on EVERYDAY and at night time.
Dinner 19:30 - 21:00 Dinner was lovely i must admit something different everyday to choose from.
What annoyed me was the fact that from 14:00 in the afternoon there is no food until 19:30 that is a long time without any food, i cant understand why the pool snacks was in the morning and not afternoon.

Pool Bar 10am - 17:00 again this is slightly stupid, the bar shuts at 5 yet the pool doesnt shut till 6. made no sense. soon as 6 o'clock comes your kicked off from around the pool.

Bar at night - Long ques due to one person serving and they knew this yet did nothing about it.

Room - 417 beautiful room and view couldnt fault it. we had one of the new rooms and was lucky. air con was great. dont leave on 17 all night will wake up freezing lol!

Day Trip - Lindos brilliant probably my favorite day, book with the hotel its 30 euro per adult picked up and dropped of to hotel. its beautiful place and stops off 3 places on way back to jump in the sea!

Town center - 5/10 minute walk to the center not many bars or resturant its mainly to catch the bus. the hill on the way back is a killer but only because its so hot.

Rhodes Town - 2.40 euro each to rhodes town its worth a trip down and its a nice place.

Falaraki - If your a party goer or like dancing etc then get a taxi to falaraki its very good 15 euro in a taxi.

Beachs - there is plenty of beaches, we went to the falaraki beach which is huge and its really nice. cost 1.80 euro each on the bus down to falaraki.

Water - this is pathetic and i did nearly complain, water in a glass is free, but if you try fill your bottle up they say no and want you to go buy water from there shop, its 34 + its boiling weather really did annoy me.

Entertainment - awful if you have children i would not reccomend this hotel, monday thursday and friday are the only nights they have entertainment.
there is no entertainment round the pool for children either.

Music - cant hear the music round the pool.

the Staff - resturant workers very nice really polite and friendly and work very hard. the owners are very polite they do make an effort with everyone its just little things that need changing around the hotel.

for the price we paid it was a very nice week, just little bits annoyed me.

Just arrived back after a lovely family holiday at this truly unique hotel, everything was perfect!
The staff were fantastic from the minute we arrived, we had a delayed flight and didn't arrive at the hotel til 1am and Nikos greeted us with a smile and offered us toasties and a drink. The room was spotless and was cleaned everyday with fresh towels, the cleaners were very polite, as all the staff are! The waitresses worked so hard and have a great professional approach. The food was the best we have ever had at an all inclusive everything was freshly cooked, which you don't always get on all inclusive. The pool area is good with lots of sun beds, does get quite busy at times.
We visited Rhodes by bus which you can catch from the village,2 adults 2 teenagers less than 10 Euros each way.
Lovely town and well worth a visit, lots of sights to see.
Also we booked a boat trip to Lindos with Moss at reception (a lot cheaper than thomson) 30 Euros each.
The beach is beautiful very quiet which I loved! about a 30 minute walk.
The village is also a nice place to walk to about 15 minutes down the hill with some little shops and supermarkets again not to touristy and busy.
The hill is fine if your fit and healthy we walked up 4 or 5 times during our 11 night stay and it wasn't a problem.
We will be definitely be back to visit this hotel and the wonderful professional staff.
Thank to Thassos and Moss you have a beautiful hotel on top of hill which is a little gem!
We will definitely be back soon

We arrived at hotel to be greeted by thassos he was very quick at booking us in we didnt get offered a drink as people mentioned in other reviews and we was with are two sons 16 and 18 we noticed that thassos seen this and then changed the room numbers we were allocated on the list we should have been in one of the new rooms but he changed this and the boys ended up in a old room with failed double glazing on the patio doors when we spoke to moss she said we cannot move you maybe in a few days and we will let you know we never heard anything.
We did enjoy our stay there and yes the food was good but did not like thassos having constant arguments with staff jordan the pool bar man was brill but think thassos sacked him everyday then let him back he also did this with all members of staff in front of customers.
Yes we had a great time here but find it hard to see the treating you like family about this hotel as in other reviews we never got spoken to by thassos after check in the whole time we were there but yes everything else was good just wish our rooms we got allocated was the ones we got so felt cheated as this was a surprise break for the boys after there exams.

Arrived late in July, lovely hotel, really helpful and welcoming staff, here are the things you want to know.....

Pools, main pool and kids pool, well maintained and clean. We upgraded to a room with a plunge pool, well worth the money and if you don't mind risking it we upgraded when we got there (although not always possible) we got a much reduced rate to the €60 pp per night that's advertised. We paid about half that! Again plunge pools well maintained and clean. Sun beds were not a problem to get and we didn't see anyone that had to go without.

Rooms, clean and tidy. Rooms in older half of hotel (they added a new complex last winter) were a little dated but again very clean and tidy and everything in good working order. Cleaning staff do an amazing job.

Staff, very very friendly, really good with children and quickly rectified any problems. Nothing was to much trouble.

Location, lots of comments about the hill from previous reviews. It really isn't that bad, yes it's a steep hill but don't let that put you off. 15 min walk to the town, few tourist shops for the children to spend there euros and 3-4 supermarkets. Thompson say it's a 15 min walk to the beach, it's not!! Closer to 45 mins but hotel staff will happily arrange taxis if you need.

Food, having been on lots of all inclusive holidays we have come to expect three square meals of golden brown deep fried food. This hotel really is the exception to the rule, the food was without doubt the best we have ever had. Fresh food, lots of salads and the BBQ is fired up for lunch and dinner every day. I really can't say enough good things about the food, a big well done to all the kitchen and serving staff.

Bar, drinks were all good, yes there are ques at the bar at peak times but not enough to put you off waiting your turn. The bar staff again were amazing and by day 2 knew what we were all drinking.

Entertainment, we didn't see much of it but that was our choice (the room with the plunge pool was hard to leave!!) we could here it and it sounded pretty good. Large bar area looks out over the town from on top of that big hill and gives amazing views, lovely place to sit, drink, eat and relax.

Overall comments, really great place to stay, amazing food, staff, pools and rooms. Do yourself a favour and book now!!
