You can take a stroll through this quaint village and see the chapel and school. It is small and doesn’t take long. Parking can be scarce. I would say that this is not a must see and not exciting, just a quaint couple streets to stroll if in the area and it is free.

This, albeit tiny, historic community is in close proximity to Whalehead and the Currituck Lighthouse. We enjoyed eating and going in to some of the wonderful shops featuring local artisans.

When visiting Corolla, NC, be sure to make time to visit Corolla Village for a step back in time. It is a welcome retreat and a great place to explore the offerings of the local businesses housed in restored houses. The village is within walking distance of the Currituck Lighthouse and Corolla Park where you will find the Whalehead Club and Currituck National Wildlife Refuge. During our visit, we saw children with computers and tables on the grounds of the Old Schoolhouse. What better appropriate place for students in Corolla to learn during Covid-19 – maintaining social distancing and learning

This village also has the lighthouse on it so that’s what drew us there. There is also a wildlife center which we did not go to. Some of the shops were open and not others because of COVID. Everyone was very nice and tried to keep their distance. There is a dock aside of the wildlife center that is very good for sunsets. The older kids had no interest so just the hubs and I. We also saw a coyote while there just wondering around.
