The Inn is delightful, spacious, quiet, very comfortable and beautifully decorated, especially this time of year with the Holiday embellishments.
Furnishing, bed linens and bath towels were fresh. We were fortunate to be the only guests for the night and enjoyed falling into an over-stuffed sofa in one of the two front gathering rooms and privately sharing wine and cheese we had purchased at a close-by wine shop on Union Square which Chaz, the innkeeper had recommended.
Speaking of Chaz, he was welcoming, personable, professional, obviously intelligent and well-versed in the art of conversation. Breakfast was abundant, diverse, cooked to order by Chaz himself, who revealed having also been a professional chef. His expertise showed up brilliantly in the home-baked muffins and attractive presentation.
Can’t go wrong and highly recommend this lovely B&B. Although we live in Asheville, just a bit over an hour drive from Hickory, we will hope to have other reasons for a return visit.
