The Holly is a historic Inn in the village of Pinehurst. The rooms are decorated with an antique style and vary quite a bit in size and layout. I have stayed at several hotels in the Southern Pines area before for golf tournaments and probably would not stay at The Holly again. The rooms at The Holly lack simple modern amenities such as a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. The bathrooms are quite small and lack ample space to even lay out a shaving kit. The buffet breakfast is outrageously priced at $32 per person for a very average breakfast buffet. If you do stay at The Holly consider traveling next door to the Pinecrest Inn for a much more reasonably priced breakfast. The Holly in convenient to golf in the area and the Pinehurst shuttles making getting around very convenient.

The Holly Inn is a wonderful hotel with plenty of history within its confines. There are plenty of pictures of guests and years gone by. The rooms are good size and have all been updated. The bathrooms are in great shape too. The front desk staff are very attentive to all your needs and the valet for your car is always free. Would highly recommend this hotel over the manor or the Carolina as the best value.

We decided to stay overnight before the Pinehurst Concours and had left it too late to get into the main Pinehurst Resort. The Resort reservation service very quickly found us a place at the Holly Inn, a part of the overall resort. I drove down earlier on the Friday afternoon, checked in and, while waiting for the family to arrive, relaxed in the bar and later on the terrace. We ate on the terrace once everyone had arrived. The bar was very friendly, with a very good selection of beer and generous helpings of snack fries. The food on the terrace was also very good, though with it being so busy service was a bit slow, albeit very pleasant. An excellent way to enjoy beautiful weather outside at sunset. Our room was traditional in the nicest way, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We were able to park our vehicles right outside the door leading to the back, less than 50 yards from our room. All in all this was a very good stay. In some ways the Holly Inn is better than the main resort if you are not a golfer, because it nestles in a grove of trees with excellent places to walk and cruise in a car, quiet but very close to the action. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms downstairs are quieter and, if one arrives by car, very close to the secluded but safe parking lot.

For two consecutive years, we stayed at The Holly Inn. It is indeed charming; the service very good; and amenities were excellent. The shuttle service is fantastic. The rooms are fine for two grown men to share (2 beds). No big issues but the shower head in room 317 was very low, the temperature control in the room somewhat erratic and the tv sometimes not functioning. Minor issues especially since we were barely in the rooms. The breakfasts offered in each of the hotels were fantastic. Plenty of options. T

The staff was very helpful, and the room that we had was good. We enjoyed our stay there as the Holly Inn is part of the Carolina Hotel, and my golf clubs were taken care of from the time we arrived to the time we left. The location was terrific, as we could walk downtown immediately. It was an interesting experience, and we look forward to returning.
