Have had lunch a couple of times, dinner a couple of times...what a cool place, superb food, great staff. Unpretentious. Well priced. Super place to just sit and let the world turn. Best Reuben Sandwich anywhere. Only five minutes from home. We’re just lucky.

I love finding the new "in" places that are talked about in local publications - should be fun. I was there two weeks ago with three girlfriends. Three separate staffers could've cared less that we were there. First, there is no wait list to be on while you're waiting for a table, so be prepared to elbow around hopeful diners standing RIGHT WITH YOU and trying to get ahead of you. The staff seems to find this amusing. And be prepared to receive elbows, if that's your thing. Since we were only four, we could not make a reservation ahead of time. The four of us found two seats at the bar and we tried to let two staffers know that we were hoping for a table. They didn't care that we were waiting, they explained there was no list, and had no interest that four people wanted to order drinks. No one asked us for a drink order, despite us asking about a specific drink and expressing interest in it, and four of us sat on those two bar stools for 12 minutes. One woman staffer, wearing glasses, shoved over two glasses of water to us - how were the four of us supposed to share two glasses of water? And one glass had lipstick on it, I have an MPH and that's disgusting. We left and went to Taste, at 1912 Bernard St. and had a great time.

Fun & friendly. Great bar with expert bartender who makes perfect drinks with excellent ingredients. Great dishes from the kitchen which has a charcoal broiler. Oysters, lamb & farm-fresh ingredients were superb.

What started as a Friday afternoon shopping for furniture turned into a cozy enchanted romantic evening thanks to the new hot spot Hummingbird in (somewhere) Raleigh.

Yes - right at the corner of Raleigh's Dock 1053 you'll find Hummingbird (the cozy bar made from a converted rest room no less!).

The drink menu is exotic, completely thought out and (importantly) delicious. I had the dark and delicious rum drink w bitters. I followed it up with the tequila and grapefruit drink (note to self: careful on the rum to tequila segue!). But wow - what a wonderful blend of sweet and sour. My wife had the Big Willie Style: pepper vodka w habanero bush. Thumbs up.

For food, it is small-dish tapas style. We had the Brussels sprout salad and the Chicory beet salad. Both refreshing and perfect. Then we got roasted oysters which we politely fought over. So good. We finished things up with the fried rice (w fried egg) and roasted cauliflower.

If you're looking for a fun off-the-path getaway, check this place out. And get there early... It gets crowded!

Cozy beautiful space. Wide range of small plates to make all comers happy - all the dishes we tried (about half the menu) exceeded expectations! Original, avian-themed cocktails. We will be back!
