I had visited the nearby JC Raulston Arboretum and wanted to have dinner before heading back home. After reading the reviews of the Neomonde Mediterranean Bakery & Cafe I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was crowded when I arrived and had to park down the street. They offer both outside and indoor seating. Neomonde is both a restaurant and grocery store. As you enter you will find the grocery section on the left side as you approach the counter for ordering food.
You order the food at the counter prior to finding your own seat. The menu is varied and offers numerous selections for those with dietary restrictions. I decided on the kabob platter which came with two sides of your choice. At $10 the price is more than reasonable for the amount and quality of food. With the drink my bill came out to about $12.50.
While I didn't spend much time in the grocery section, it looked like they offered a wide selection of Mediterranean food, spices and drinks. It might be worthwhile to check it out, especially if the prices are similar to those found in the cafe section. There did seem to be a steady stream of people shopping for food.
If you are in the area and looking for a good place to eat, Neomonde is definitely worth considering. While it is more of a quick-service type restaurant, the food and service are very good. You also do not feel rushed, even with the large number of people.
