“Beautiful cottage with sea views”
Reviewed 19 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Where do I start? This little cabin is simply beautiful, from the cosiest most comfortable bed, to the lovely and spacious bathroom, to the gorgeous living space and balcony with views of the sea. On arrival, we were welcomed by a bottle of Prosecco, fresh scones and some clotted cream and jam that Deborah had left for us in the fridge. A lovely little touch which made our stay even more special. It's those little touches which I always think make a stay stand out from the rest. I absolutely loved the interior design of this cottage, very modern and cool and everything was immaculately clean.

The cabin itself is about a 10 minute walk down to the beach and a few mins walk to the local shops and pubs.

This was our first holiday as a family with our little girl who is 9 months old. Deborah provided us with a lovely highchair and a travel cot. My little girl loved hearing the local cockerel whilst she had her breakfast in the morning!

I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Croyde.

The only minor negative point I have is that the cottage could do with a sign outside saying 'Salt Cabin' as it was difficult to find with no indication at all that we'd found the right place!

We very much hope to return to salt cabin in the future. Thank you Deborah for your kind hospitality!

“As good, if not better, than expected”
Reviewed 25 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed at the Salt Cabin for three days in April, as we came down to Croyde for my birthday. The cabin is immaculate, extremely functional and beautifully presented.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we expected that it would be a nice place but were not prepared for all the individual touches that made this more of a 'home from home'. Coffee (both instant and Nespresso pods), olive oil, salt & pepper, milk - all provided, which means you don't have to buy these items if you cook in. Lovely kitchen with a very swish cooker - my wife is now very keen on getting the same model! - dishwasher, microwave, kettle, hob; there is simply nothing more that you would require. The lounge area is extremely comfortable, with a good quality TV on the wall, along with a dvd player (with around 150 dvds to choose from), wireless bluetooth speaker and even an Apple TV box - so you can stream from your i-Pad / i-Phone. Excellent wi-fi as well - I measured the download speed at around 10mbps. Certainly beats what I get at home!

The bedroom was very comfortable, with lovely 'deep' pillows. The bathroom is simply luxurious, with a very elegant 'double ended' bath (with shower attachment) and a walk-in 'rain' shower. Nice modern touches such as automatic lights, sliding doors (very sensible, as it maximises the space) and the bi-folding doors onto the decking; we were lucky enough to have a lovely sunny day when we arrived and enjoyed the (supplied) bottle of bubbly outside.

The cabin is just up the road from the town centre, about a five minute walk. There are several pubs and restaurants, our favourite was the Blue Groove - excellent lunch menu and we had a very pleasant steak there one evening. You are also just a few minutes from the beach, which at this time of year was practically deserted, although I imagine that was more to do with the cold weather the country is currently experiencing! You can also join the coastal path from here and, like us, walk to 'Baggy Point' and carry on to Woolacombe - took us about 90 minutes. Fantastic scenery and relatively easy - you would not need walking boots to complete this.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we had no need to bother the owner after 'checking in' and found everything we needed in the 'owners manual' provided. Nice off road parking is a bonus, along with the views of the sea and the dunes. We have stayed in some lovely places over the years but I would be hard pressed to name any accommodation that was as pleasant as the Salt Cabin.

“Lovely little place!”
Reviewed 15 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

The wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely little place with all you need to get by. Brought the dog along as well which was a bonus for us! Prosecco and scones on arrival - bonus point for Rodda's clotted cream also, us being from Cornwall!! The whole place is very comfy and homely...the wife has been searching online for some of the furniture already! We would definitely consider staying again if we ever visit Croyde.

“A Perfect Hideaway”

We booked Salt Cabin for 3 nights over Christmas and it was perfect in every way. The location is superb. Nothing to hear but the distant waves rolling in and the morning call of the local cockerel, but just a few minutes stroll from the centre of Croyde which was wonderfully lively over Christmas. The cabin has everything you could possibly need but it's the little touches that make it so special like the fabulous cosy dressing gowns, the Nespresso coffee machine and the terrific wifi connection. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night....we just didn't want to leave and we can't wait to go back.
