We thought this was one of the better managed holiday parks that we have stayed at. We loved our 2 bedroom cabin - it was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay - comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, TV and WiFi. The park facilities were well maintained and Kay at reception was super friendly and helpful!

We have stayed at this park a couple of times each year for the last six years while the whale watching season is on..we stayed the 1st September 17, and was very disappointed with the lady in the office wasnt talkative at all, we were given the key , we put our belongings in , then went out for the evening, when we arrived back around 9.30 pm , we found the heater turned itself off after 15 - 20 minutes, and it was a very cold night, we had to use a blow heater we found in the cupboard which was dusty and smelt awful, it only heated one room so if you left that room it was freezing, the bedroom tv wasn't connected to an aerial , then to top it off the tap handle fell off when you turned it on in the shower. we left before the office opened , I tried calling through the day with no answer, then I sent an email outlining the issues we had ,also filled out survey they sent me . and to date have had no response . That will be the last time we stay there and won't be recommending it either.

Hi Marion

Thanks for the review always good to get feedback both good and bad.

As discussed on the phone we have recently taken over the park and are working through a long list of maintenance tasks including replacement of older cabin heaters with new split systems

In terms of the cleaning I have spoken to management about ensuring our dusting is up to standard. I understand following your comment to management they also arranged for the repair of the older heater. For your interest a number of cabins are also being repainted and spring cleaned at present including the one you stayed in.

Thank you once again for your feedback.

Regards

Matt - Eden Gateway HP

Stopped overnight on drive from sydney to Melbourne. Arrived late and followed instructions to get keys to cabin but the pass didn't open the boom gate, tried calling the number we had been given and it was a wrong number, looked everywhere for another number and finally found it listed with two of the numbers switched.
Cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a night stop over.
Spa was dirty so we needed to clean it before having a bath but other than that it was neat and tidy. Was going to let front office know about phone numbers in morning but when we dropped off keys woman just opened door took keys and closed door, very disappointing customer service.

The cabins are a bit older than the ones we stayed at in the Garden of Eden but are serviceable and larger. Probably better suited for a family than across the Road although we prefer Garden of Eden as a couple.
We had a two bedroom cabin which had a double bed in one and a could of bunks in another. We didnt use the bunk bed room and kept the door shut to keep the place warmer. I think the aircon struggled sometimes since took a while to warm up.
The cabin smelt a little from what seemed like too much bleach. We had an oil burner with some eucalyptus which soon made it better. The place was clean.
You need to bring your own tissues. Also, ensure you bring paper towels (if you cook). All other utensils were there with fridge, small stove and microwave.
Water pressure in shower was good although ensure you have a quick one since it runs out after two go through.
There is a swimming pool there which I bet gets busy over summer. I noted some small motorised carts too which I assume you can hire and ride around in.
Being allowed to take your dog (on leash) is nice since a lot do not allow.
There is free wifi for two appliances.

Room Tip: Be aware that the cabins had some steep steps

Thanks for your review.

Based on your feedback we will be putting tissues in all cabins.

We will also get maintenance to follow up on your issues related to the A/C.

We bought a travel auction for this park and are glad we did. The park is flat, well grassed, spacious and dotted with deciduous trees. Even though it is on the main highway traffic noise is barely heard over the constant bellbird voices. We were allotted a very nice, roomy 2 bedroom cabin which had everything we needed except an oven. Bed and lounge were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Worth a visit to this beautiful part of nsw.
