I ate this too fast to take a picture. Tempura fried lobster that was so tender it melted in your mouth. It arrived on top of fried rice with lump crab meat. Rich, velvety sauce. This is a must have dish if you like lobster!

FInally got to Catch this week. Unassuming spot in a strip mall way out Market Street in Wilmington, NC. Best to call ahaed for landmarks. Sat at bar. Good selection of fresh seafood nicely prepared and presented but not with NY-style "wow" factor. The seafood platter I ordered -- low risk menu item -- was just that -- great fresh local shrimp, oysters and flounder cooked just right. Collards (very good ones at that) and stand-out mashed potatoes as sides! Little surprised by the rather nondescript French bread -- would have prepared some form of corn meal offering. Would have been great to sample the clams, lobster offered several ways including chunks in tempura, local fish, etc. Just me, however. In spite of much publicity, not crowded on Friday night. Good place to get a seafood fix while in Wilmington or at Wrightsville Beach. But not the kind of fancy eats that advance you on Top Chef where this chef competed. Not cheap but will not break the bank. Recommeded.

Catch is a wonderful restaurant that offers amazing food and treats their customers to a special celebratory atmosphere.
We had a lovely waitress by the name of Southerland from Beaufort NC who was a gracious server.
The potato salad was incredible and the soft shell crabs were prepared perfectly.
They brought out a wonderful chocolate molten cake to finish the meal off with.
The owners wife graciously came to the table and makes everyone feel welcome.
Thank you Catch for a special birthday meal.
It was perfect.

This is a very nice place for seafood. The Chef here is famous for his cooking in the local area. Seafood is always fresh and very well prepared. I always suggest reservations for going here as it is full on the weekends. I love seafood so I have not tried any of their none seafood dishes. My only problem with this restaurant is to be prepared to spend some time here as service can be slow. Our drink order was taken quickly but then it took a while to get menus and once ordered we had to ask them to check the status of our food as it took quite some time to get it to us. We were in no rush so that was fine, if we had been going to the movies after dinner this would have been a problem. Staff should had taken more initiative to check on us and make sure the dinner arrived within a reasonable time or else explained the situation. We will go back as the food is good.

We had the calamari as an appetizer and the grouper as a main course. The calamari was the best we had-anywhere-Done perfectly. The kale additions as well as the sauces were a welcome, creative surprise. The sweet potato compote was a very nice accompaniment to the grouper, which was done perfectly.

The bartender (Jessica) was generous and attentive. Dessert was a nice surprise-chocolate lava cake with freshly made whip cream. We will be back! With friends!!
