We started by splitting the Shrimp & Corn Chowder, it was a little spicy, but tasty.
I had the "Guinness Reuben"; Brisket, w/Sauerkraut, Russian Dressing, Baby Swiss on Pumpernickel Rye. It was a little thin & should have a little more meat, but it was good & had a nice taste. Fries were seasoned & tasty.
My wife had the "Meatball Sundae"; consisting of Four Meatballs, Marinara Sauce, A Scoop of Ricotta, Four Slices of Garlic Bread. She enjoyed this dish, but thought it needed just a little more sauce.
Both the Chowder & Meatball Sundae were not hot & needed to be warmer.
The service was very good, the Restaurant was clean, the Restrooms were also clean. Overall, we were satisfied & would go back again.

We went dog-less but did sit outside and enjoyed the array of dogs that also enjoyed the dining experience. We both ordered gluten free pizza and it was awesome. Instead of eating our usual 1/2 pizza we both ate the entire thing. The staff were all super friendly. The menu was varied and full of options for everyone. The size of the restaurant is deceiving from the outside - but it is a large dining room with patio seating out back too.

Great Italian food, piping hot, made to order with great service. Middle of a weekday afternoon but still lots of folks eating lunch. Server was new and the manager came around to be sure we were pleased.

As you enter off Front Street, Tony's has an attractive long dark bar to the right with 2 levels of dining, high ceilings and a nice very causal covered patio sitting high overlooking the Cape Fear River a block away. The restaurant can also be entered from the rear up the steps to the patio. My black and blue burger was very good, cooked perfect and came with a side salad. My wife liked her Penne a la Vodka and we both liked their beer offerings, particularly the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat pints ($4) on special. Waitress was very good and Fat Tony's is family friendly with a very nice menu.

Food is awesome. Italian meatball sliders are wonderful. Love the atmosphere in the old waterfront buildings. Prices are good and service was quick and very friendly staff.
