My friend and I visited last week during our stay in Penang. The entrance fee was a little high but we did not mind as much as we spent 4 hours inside. The exhibits were all tagged and named clearly and with loads and loads of information for all to enjoy. We admired the use of space inside and was pleasantly surprised by each gallery.

One thing that we would like to make a comment on is that, we were pleased to see that there was no plastic straws being used, instead metal straws were provided. However, we were sad to see that instead of refill stations, your beautiful establishment was selling plastic water battles instead. Also, during lunch we were served with plastic utensils.

We truly had a wonderful time however we hope that the management will look into installing water refilling stations and maybe sell reusable bottles for guests to purchase instead of plastic water bottles.

I was pleasantly surprised when our family visited. My last visit was 10 years ago to the original Butterfly Farm. They’ve renovated and upgraded their facilities completely. My kids (6,3.5) loved it, and so did my MIL. There is a good split of outdoor/indoor sections. There are loads of activities (some at an additional cost such as spinning your own silk to make a bookmark). I would highly recommend a visit.

Good learning experience for young kids to let them know how to take care the baby caterpillar and no more scare of caterpillar.
