Nicely set up for all ages. Kids loves the place and the environment is relaxing. The entry fee is too expensive. I’ll not go again to see the same thing and pay the fees.

Butterflies fly freely in a glass-house conservatory and our 13-month-old son enjoyed thoroughly including releasing a butterfly during the beginning of our tour in this tropical garden. The place is well kept and clean. You also get to see monitor lizards (huge) and many other critters. A great place for families.
From the name of it, i thought this was just a butterfly park, even the grab driver thought so. Went on anyway since we lived in batu ferringhi. Upon entering, realised it was more than that. It mainly cover invertebrates. Frogs, lots of insects and geckos, millipedes, lizards.. even a section dedicated to roaches. It wasn’t a pretty sight to be honest but my daughter loved it, suddenly these insects came to life in front of her. The outdoor area has gardens and free flying butterflies that make for nice close up pictures. You could see the butterflies suckling on the flower. Once outdoors is done you are led indoors to the silk making station where u can make ur own silk from silkworms. I enjoyed the ant station where they installed tubes to show the ants at work, carrying leaves back to the nest. The price was expensive but i felt worth because of its unique attraction. There is a cafe on site if u want lunch.
We have done a few butterfly farms around the world but this stood out as the clear winner, it is fantastic and so well done. Magnificent gardens and plant varieties with beautiful butterfly's surrounding you as you walk through. Fantastic exhibits spaced around the atrium area with a huge variety of wildlife from monitor and other lizards to snakes, scorpions, frogs, beetles, fish and much more. Inside they have created many wonderful interactive exhibits detailing the lives of all types of invertebrates, butterfly's, moths, firefly's and others. We even got to create some silk thread to take home which was hand spun from a silkworm cocoon (cost 20RM). Lots of free fun and educational activities for kids as well. We spent nearly 4 hours there (including a lunch stop at the cafe). Really, really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
Visited Entopia and wasn't really expecting too much, maybe a good place to spend a little time.
However, I was pleasantly surprised. It is only a few years old, is well-maintained and is full of lovely exhibits. A great place to visit, especially for children.
Tip, if you're visiting, make sure you check out the dam opposite. Well worth it
We downloaded and printed a 15% off entrance fee e-coupon from the myPenang website, which I would recommend visitors to do since the entrance fee is rather high. The domes were quite spacious and there were many butterflies attracted to the flowers and fruits. This provided wonderful opportunities for photo-taking. (Public service announcement: Please gently place your fingers under their legs if you want them to land on you; do not harm them by tearing their wings.) There were also indoor exhibitions and games, which I believe should be informative and interesting, though unfortunately my tour group was not interested in spending time to read these exhibition panels.
There are many nature learning experiences taking place at different timings, some of which are free and some of which are payable, and I definitely recommend trying to catch them to make the most of your visit. We caught the free Vita Nova experience, which involved a brief introduction to the life cycle of a butterfly as well as the chance to release newly-emerged butterflies for their first flight. This was an interesting experience for my travel companions and me.
