We were looking for a weekend getaway that was out of the ordinary to celebrate a birthday of a special someone. We like wild and rustic but didn't want to rough it just because we were on the edge of the wilderness. Hikes to lush forests and expansive beaches and lava marked botanical beach were lovely and topped off with a dip in the Soule Creek hot tub. The night was chilly but fresh as we ran from out isolated yurt to the main lodge house for our gourmet meal especially designed for us. The host had met us earlier in the day to welcome us and asked a few questions about our culinary delights.
The accommodations we had were the largest of yurts and had a wrap around view of the hills with the inlet in the distance. You do hear the wind and rain so if you like being close to nature you'll love it. The bed was very comfortable and you could see the stars through the skylight.
We met people from all over the world over breakfast in the large dinning room/lounge area. They too were amazed to find a cozy getaway on the edge of the wilderness. We will come back again and would highly recommend it to our friends and world travelers alike. We are blessed to have such beauty at our doorstep.More
